12.07 - Not with a DM yet but she said it should be any day now because we’ve reached the timescale they expect it to be seen. She said they’re fairly quick at making decisions once it’s sent across so all being well it should be done by this time next week 😬

Morning ladies
Long time reader , this post has kept me sane for weeks now
My scan date 10/7
Called this morning , it's with a DM , she wasn't sure how long the DM had it but said any day now , she was really lovely and very helpful , she said as I had previously asked for a txt that I will get one as soon as a decision is made

Mommaof2babas · 10/11/2023 09:40

@Clairexdx it possibly could be usually they will try to contact you again, I've read that they can call upto 5 tines before they will leave a message, sometime they phone from a unknown number but sometimes could be a 0800 number! What is your scan date? Good luck!

samepasswordforall1 · 10/11/2023 07:54

Scan date 7.7.23, two texts and a letter
Considering the claims are taking however long they're taking, why are people phoning? I don't mean that in a facetious way, I'm really curious. Is it something I should be doing? It had never occurred to me in years of claiming DLA ( first DD now DGS)

I get what you mean but because the communication from DWP isn’t great, a lot of people take it upon themselves to call and see what’s happening.

If everyone consistently received a text to let them know if they’ve been awarded (or even a text to say the claim is a few weeks behind but will looked at soon) then I’m sure less people would call. When my son was awarded earlier this year, the letter took 5 weeks to arrive!

I only call to check if the claim has been received (both of my claims have been lost), additional evidence has been received and on week 18 to see what’s going on. I can understand why people call more frequently because the communication is absolutely shite

Mumma3girls · 10/11/2023 09:38

I’ve just called to check my additional evidence has been received- been told it will be with a DM at 18weeks… 3more weeks to go (hopefully)

househead13 · 10/11/2023 09:37

Tried calling a couple of times this morning kept getting the busy tone, so I don’t know what made me do it but I switched my number to witheld and immediately got in the hold queue. I’ve tried calling for the last 4 days and not been able to get in the hold queue once. Might be coincidence but the woman I spoke to on Monday was really arsey and wouldn’t even tell me after waiting on hold for 1 hour whether it was a decision maker or anything else about my claim. Bear in mind that was only the second time I’d called and I’m never rude on the phone. I honestly think she blocked my number calling 😂 Maybe I’m being paranoid but it’s funny how I’ve got straight through on witheld after calling god knows how many times the last 4 days lol. Anyway I’m finally in the hold queue with a scan date of 7/7 so 18 weeks today. I will update ya all xx

I think because If you don't ring for the decision it takes a couple weeks to come threw the post, you only have a certain time to do an MR if you are declined but if your letter after a couple weeks comes says decline you the would have to ring for a detailed breakdown of why and that would then be another couple weeks wait and you wouldn't make it in time for the MR 🙂 so people want to know if it's a decline as soon as possible to ask for the breakdown of why to get the MR process rolling and get it back in time! Hope this helps xxx

Wildboysmum18 · 09/11/2023 21:07

My scan date was 5/7, my son was awarded on Monday 😄
I’ve changed that I’m caring for someone now?
Also, do we get just the carers element or do we also get the disabled child bit? It’s all so confusing xx

If your child was awarded MRC or HRC then you’re eligible for the carer element. This is £185 a month.

If your child was awarded LRC or MRC then you’re eligible for the disabled child element. This is £146 a month.

If they were awarded HRC then you can get the disabled child element which is a bit more at £456 a month

Doymum · 10/11/2023 08:49
