Ok, incorrect version removed and (hopefully) correct version above

Hi,
We are a young family with two lovely boys one aged 7 and one of 4 months in Chessington (KT9).
I'm returning to work after maternity leave soon and am looking for part time live-out child care for two days a week preferably Monday and Tuesdays. I will be out to work in the mornings until around 1pm, (my office is literally 2 mins away so can be home straight away if needed) and will work from home in the afternoons. We're an easy-going family and as long as the kids are happy so are we.

Hours will be from 8.15am-5.30pm Monday-Thursday (punctuality& flexibility a must)
Salary £6 an hour and 5.6 weeks holiday a year (roughly 11 days). The pay we are offering may seem slightly lower than some others but we don't require any housework or cooking done with the exception of my youngest's lunch.

If you are interested or would like any further details please contact Carina on

[email protected] or 020 8397 5266

Hope to hear from you soon

BofftheToff · 17/05/2009 22:44

Ah, but I have a dream ... of a place where childcare is free and commuting instant and cheap ...

nannynick · 17/05/2009 22:40

carloulee - Good news though, looks like you will be able to use Simplified PAYE as you will be paying less than £160 per week. Gosh this PAYE stuff is such fun!

BofftheToff - ah but that amount is AFTER deducting childcare costs. NMW doesn't take account of that, or commuting costs.

BofftheToff · 17/05/2009 22:34

Funny when you put it like that, NannyNick. I've just worked out that when I go back to work in September, I'll be working for the equivalent of £3.83 an hour after childcare costs. £3.56 if you take away commuting costs as well. That is what I earned in my summer job at Waterstones as a student in summer 1989.

Lalalala!

carloulee · 17/05/2009 22:31

Thanks nannynick will do that, my head's all over the place with this stuff - we didn't realise until very recently we were going to need a nanny and it all seems to be a bit of a blind panic now!!
thanks again for your help

nannynick · 17/05/2009 22:29

I would suggest changing your advert such that it just says that you will pay £6 gross per hour - if that is the amount you are proposing to pay. That is currently just above NMW for all categories. (You will need to post your message again, then report your original ad to Mumsnet to request removal.)

nannynick · 17/05/2009 22:24

The Lower Earnings Limit is £95 for 2009/10 tax year. Source: HMRC PAYE Basics. National Minimum Wage varies depending on the persons age. Someone aged 22+ would be entitled to £5.73 per hour currently... so if 18.5 hours per week, that is £106.01 NMW is due to increase soon... can't locate details of what it will rise to, or when.

carloulee · 17/05/2009 22:13

Sorry, we're confused about this aspect as we were advised that you only became an employer (by way of tax paying etc) if you paid over £105 a week we thought that as £104 is still within minimum wage this was ok?
Thanks in advance for any advice and sorry to be a pain.

nannynick · 17/05/2009 22:07

carloulee - please comply with UK taxation legislation. Stating on a public website that you will pay £104 cash in hand for someone to work 18.5 hours a week is not wise, IMO.

You should also note that statutory Holiday Entitlement is 5.6 weeks... which can include Bank Holidays.

no675 · 28/04/2009 22:13

I am a qualified British nanny with 4 years experience in the childcare industry. I am a bubbly, passionate and organized person with a great love for children.

I enjoy providing creative experiences for children, encouraging them to learn through their senses and enjoy the environment around them.

Although I have always felt I have had a natural affinity with children, during my training I have picked up on many different skills that are vital for childcare. For example, potty training, weaning, tutoring, planning activities as well as practical baby experience.

I understand that flexibility is vital where children are concerned and am very happy to help out with as much as possible, e.g. running errands, grocery shopping, walking dogs etc whilst children are at school or nursery..

I am also happy to travel at short notice.

I have 4 years experience looking after children ranging from 3 months old - 12 years old. I have professional experience in play centres, schools, many different nurseries including Montessori nurseries, and private homes. I also have overseas experience working as part of a childcare team in St Anton, Austria.

I trained privately at the Chiltern College Reading, where I gained a 'CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education' and 'The Chiltern Certificate' I also hold full certificates in Paediatric First Aid,
Anaphylactic Shock Awareness,
Food Hygiene.

I am ready to start working ASAP but happy to wait for the right family.

Hi

I'm looking for work as a nanny in south east essex, ideally in the Southend area but I'm happy to travel reasonable distances.

I have two years experience as a nanny, and I also have three years experience as a registered childminder and over 20 years experience as an early years teacher as well as experience in a number of other childcare settings.

I'm mature, punctual, reliable and hard-working. I have a good rapport with children and a passionate interest in child development.

I have a certificate in paediatric first aid; I'm not yet Ofsted registered but would be willing to register

I'm looking for a temporary or permanent job, either full-or part time. Ideally I would like to work four days a week, but would be happy to consider a job involving more or fewer hours.

Please email me if you would like more information

My updated ad:

Hi, I am a calm and caring qualified nanny with 16 years experience of looking after children from newborn up to 13 years of age. I have great references, first aid certificate, enhanced CRB disclosure, a full driving licence and my own car. In recent years I have specialised in looking after very young babies.

I have worked for "Night Nannies" in London, been a proxy parent and have attended the Tinies Maternity Practitioner course.

I am a non-smoker.

I have recently had time out from nannying to have my own baby but am looking to return to work in the summer. I am free to start from August 17 2009 when my daughter will be 7 and a half months old.

I am very flexible about hours, and I would be very happy to be able to bring my daughter to work with me - like a "nanny share", so my hourly rate would be reduced.

I am also currently in the process of becoming an Infant Massage Instructor.

I am looking for work in the North East - Teesside, East Cleveland, Redcar, Guisborough, Thirsk, Northallerton, Stokesley, Yarm, Kirklevington, Ingleby Barwick, Hutton Rudby, Darlington, Stockton, Sedgefield, Wynyard etc.

Please email if interested - [email protected].

Many thanks!
