I understand the dad is upset by the injuries, but surely accidents happen?

Thoughts on this? It's not unusual for children to fall and hurt themselves. OK, this looks a bad one, but to say the nursery was negligent seems a bit of a stretch?

Dad pulls daughter out of nursery after accident leaves her with eye injury

Neil said the family had been left "very traumatised" and his daughter was tearful, in pain, and not sleeping well.

I was looking after a toddler who fell off a ramp at nursery, he had to go to theatre to have his head stitched. I didn't hear his parents complaining! Accidents happen.

Yes but if they’d fallen again the following week you might have done. Pp said it apparently her first day back after a previous injury.

That looks worse than it is because of the blood. And if it's glue able. It's not severe and will heal well.

It looks very nasty! But at 3, they won't be constantly being watched every second. I'd be more interested in what actually caused the injury as it looks like quite a large area and also like something was possibly sharp. Not sure it required going to the papers though? I'm not sure broadcasting pictures of your injured daughter's face is quite the win they thought it might be when there are actual avenues for reporting stuff and investigations to take place.

I mean if they're unhappy she was injured and felt it necessary to report them then that's fair enough, but there are a lot of dramatics in the article and going to the papers with sad faces is always a bit pathetic.

I saw this posted on Facebook by the father. The little girl was on her first day back at nursery after having a week off to recover from a head injury sustained at nursery the week before.

They sent her back to the same nursery after the initial accident because they also thought ‘it’s not unusual for children to fall, and it’s a bit of a stretch to say nursery was negligent’

That's a nasty injury, and it's pretty worrying that the nursery seems to have no idea how the child got it. It suggests inadequate supervision.

I wouldn’t say you’d get much compensation you’d probably get to leave without paying notice.

When my children were little I’d feel a real visceral rage when they got hurt, a weird primordial protective instinct I suppose. I didn’t act on it I gritted my teeth, said these things happen and signed the accident form.

If you were already unhappy with the care you were receiving then it could easily be the last straw.

Sounds like the dad is gearing up for compensation…
