It will

DD still trys to get on my knee.......esp when I have a baby on it

chankins · 01/02/2008 21:38

Thanks, I'm hoping it gets better, as we only started last week. Probably a good thing its not too many hours at the mo. But hoping obviously for more work soonish. It is hard isn't it when you are own dc are jealous and play up when you are minding ?
I felt so guilty the other day, when she hit mindee (ony a tap really) as that is so unlike her, and then continued to play up until mindee left. Felt bad for mindee and guilty that I felt so angry at dd2 for playing up when I am working !

KatyMac · 01/02/2008 21:34

TA

Sorry about the sharing/jealousy - I still get that with DD (10)

chankins · 01/02/2008 21:01

Evening all - well done on weight loss katymac! I used to jog to lose weight but now all I need is cm'ing !
Just cleaned up the most amount of sick I have ever seen in my life - seriously. Half a beds worth. Poor dd1. She said she was ill on way to school today but I made her go anyway, not believing her !
Have only worked one day this week - not good financially, but good for dd2 who is extrememly jealous of new mindee. I guess she can't remember much about me minding beore my mat leave, and is cross about sharing me with baby brother and new mindee !
o dear.

KatyMac · 01/02/2008 20:56

I'm not dieting

I ate carefully for 3 yrs (2002-2005) and lost 48 lbs

I gradually lost a further 6lbs by about beginning of 2006 - & this 8lbs over the last couple of months - but not by trying

KatyMac · 01/02/2008 20:52

Gosh no I passed that years ago - it ws about 11st 7lbs

I'm 10 st 1lb & the last 8lbs I didn't intend to lose

vInTaGeVioLeT · 01/02/2008 20:51

wow - well done katymac - so are you at your desired weight now?

KatyMac · 01/02/2008 20:27

I have now lost 62lbs......phew it's all that childminding

vInTaGeVioLeT · 01/02/2008 17:37

well i'm so feckin' glad this week is over!!!
it's been hard and long - sorry smutty double meaning un-intended!!!!

it did have a silver lining though - i had my lovely ex-midee for an ad-hoc day so ds was as happy as larry(whoever he is)

you think everything is good and everyone's settled and then i get a change of hours request . . . AAARRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHH

Mum2Luke · 01/02/2008 17:12

There's no hope for me then, I'm 41 and have had forgetfulness since my first was born and that was 18 years ago!!!! PMSL .

I don't really drink that much, sometimes on a Friday in Stalybridge with a cm friend when we unwind after a week of cming! Its too cold tonight, will be staying in.

MaureenMLove · 01/02/2008 16:50

The weather has been perfectly fine here tbh. No rain, bit windy and cold, but pretty average really. Kbears dh has a personal interest in seeing my car in carparks, because he always puts the windscreen wipers up on it, just to wind me up! Trouble is, he has yet to wind me up, since there are hundreds of white Rovers round here! He has no doubt, pissed off many a Rover driver though!

Mum2Luke · 01/02/2008 16:43

Lol MaureenMlove at losing your car and on a day like today too! I've done that before and wondered why my key wouldn't fit and the owner was shouting at me!!!! I have an old VW Sharan which is silver, not many of them about really but when I first got it I was looking for my hubby's car which is a completely different car!!!

I have just read local paper and there was a letter from a non-child no-car user who was moaning at the fact people like us need parent and baby car spaces at supermarkets and that we are lazy - a gripe at you and I really that we also should not use buses.Feel like emailing paper and giving a piece of my mind it incensed me !!

Thank goodness its Friday, thats all I can say. Have a good weekend

MaureenMLove · 01/02/2008 16:39

Good innit! My mate in Oz sent loads to me. My other favourite is the kid in the trash can, with the slogan, 'Leave your ugly kids here!'

looneytune · 01/02/2008 16:35

PMSL - I had an idea it might be there photo!!! Did you know there was something about this pic on Mumsnet recently. Think it was Netmums people coming on and telling MNetters off for having a laugh about it (iirc)

MaureenMLove · 01/02/2008 16:29

Girls, please look on my profile at my pictures. I've come up with a great idea for keeping the lo's safe, whilst you go for a wee. No need for risk assessments before and after either.

looneytune · 01/02/2008 15:11

Hi everyone

Feeling sorry for myself too, just want some day nurse but can't At least I had a phone call this morning saying I didn't need to pick pre-school mindee up as mum will be home in time to get her so that saved going out this afternoon Just got few more hours then can go back to bed!

So, who has had snow today? We have had a nice sunny day here, cold but nice. Made myself go to the park with the kids for their sake, boy did I ache like mad and constantly blew my nose but they enjoyed it!

SB - no probs, happy to help

Right, off to see if I can find anything to eat that I can actually swallow!

Bye for now

hennipenni · 01/02/2008 15:00

Get well vibes from henni to all you poorly minders, still feeling fit and well here.

We've now got snow here an it is starting to settle until the wind whips it up. Mindee1 said ealier, "Oh, we're having a snowflake day!" I thought that was really sweet!

ROSEgarden · 01/02/2008 14:09

MaureenMLove · 01/02/2008 13:06

Its not the age that's doing it, its the years of wine abuse!

dmo · 01/02/2008 13:03

morinig ladies
oh god really dont want to be 40 now mo is losing the plot!

mumlove · 01/02/2008 13:03

belle - can you come and do a little bit of house work for my please because I only have sunday this weekend to do all of my normal weekend things as I am going to our local childminding conference tomorrow.

mo - I have done that plenty of times in car parks!!

MaureenMLove · 01/02/2008 12:44

Oh, I used to love that feeling ML. There used to be one day a week, when it was just me and DD too. We held hands and skipped all the way home, usually!

I lost my car this morning! I've found it now, but I really did loose it! I always park in roughly the same place in the supermarket carpark, saves me having to think about it when I come out, but the car park was heeeeving this morning, so I drove round and round this huge car part until I found a space. No where near my usual spot and when I came out, with trolly, I really had no recollection what so ever, where I parked it! Really no idea! I wandered, muttering to myself, with wonky wheeled trolley for 10 minutes, until I remembered!

southernbelle77 · 01/02/2008 12:42

Afternoon!!
I'm here on my own today and it's bliss! Well, it would be if I hadn't been rushing around all morning doing the shopping and will be spending the afternoon doing housework as it's so much easier when I'm on my own!
Waiting for some more info from new parents before can send of my grid and letter to Ofsted telling them how I will cope with 4 under 5's (thanks LT your email was very very helpful and would have replied today but can't get into my email atm!) and then hopefully they will agree and all will be well!!
OK best stop waffling and get on with some housework!

mumlove · 01/02/2008 12:27

Been to toddler group and all the children said goodbye to mindee, I will miss him but at least I will only have 1 mindee on a friday between 9 -2.30pm so I can do the school run for DD all by myself which will be nice for me and her .

Off to make a coffee and get myself some lunch.

KaySamuels · 01/02/2008 09:59

Yes thank goodness for school! It is in the pipeline but is taking a ridiculous amout of time, he is getting support though so that's good.

Mumlove - sorry you have a mindee leaving, bet you will miss him! I am hoping we don't get snow, I hate the cold. [wimp emotion]
