My son is 9 and diagnosed with asd and adhd, I sent letters for these along with his ehcp, ot reports and educational psychologist reports. I’m worried that we won’t get awarded as we didn’t have anyone to fill in the section for a professional as it was done during the school holidays.

Mrsamandac · 16/11/2022 16:55

hi I’m new here, I got a letter dated 14/08 saying they got my application on 10/08 then another on 27/09 saying sorry it’s taking so long. I’ve still not heard anything or received anything :(

@Alilly1991 Can I please ask what rate you were awarded? I am similar to you, my son is 2.5, I have sent quite a lot of evidence in from his complex needs worker, Speech & language report etc. He doesn’t yet have a diagnosis as we are awaiting an assessment from the Paediatrician. I am not hopeful that I will be successful due to his age, I’ve heard that it’s really hard to get a claim approved for under 5’s x

MRC, I’m happy with that. It will cover the costs of what we need for him so I can’t complain. I heard it was difficult too, I spoke to the lady on the phone because I was surprised and she said there’s a lot of criteria that have to meet for under 5’s

Anyone know the address for sending additional evidence it's been so long I have quite alot to add now but can't remember who to and the address

Meli3 · 16/11/2022 16:29

@georgiesmuma I agree it's horrible waiting and not knowing isn't it. I reckon you'll hear by Friday I've seen a lot, i.e scanned 11 August awarded 11 Nov if that makes sense x

Meli3 · 16/11/2022 16:26

@MissEllie2 I've seen a few around the 16th 17th too x

MissEllie2 · 16/11/2022 16:10

@Meli3 I’m expecting around the 28th of November. Although I’ve just seen someone be awarded for the 17th so maybe it’ll be sooner? I won’t be ringing until this time next week I don’t think. I want to check they got addition evidence scanned on that I sent last week and the week before before it goes to DM x

Congrats @Alilly1991 what evidence did you send in

I sent in HV report and that was it. She explained what he was like and the referrals she’s made…. Literally next to nothing

georgiesmuma · 16/11/2022 15:40

19th for me…. Phoned yesterday and they said should hear by next week. It’s some kind of sick twisted mind game applying for dla isn’t it? I’m sure most of us would rather we wasn’t part of this club with our children whether medical or complex needs. Awful we feel we have to beg because are children aren’t the ‘standard’ & then its based if w check list and a strangers opinion it’s baffling!

Shellbel10 · 16/11/2022 15:07

Congrats @Alilly1991 what evidence did you send in

Meli3 · 16/11/2022 14:48

MissEllie2 · 16/11/2022 14:31

22nd of August for me! Feels like the longest wait 😣. Wish it hadn’t taken so long to fill them out and I’d have our answer by now 🤣
