It would be so much nicer to all stay here and eat cakes.

DH was packing for his sojourn to SA last night and I WANNA GO!!!!!!!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:27

What a beautiful story! Are they friends of yours Nick?

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:21

Ah, that's lovely! I haven't read the Standard since I worked in Town,I'll have a look online, see if its there.

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:20

Found the article on-line - Amazing Grace

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:18

The child had a liver transplant, which if she hadn't got it she would by now be dead. Made the newspaper today I guess, due to the opt-out organ donation thing being talked about by government. The shortage of organs available for transplant meant that children who need them, due to a birth defect (or for whatever other reason), have to wait a long time for there to be a match.

I was surprised that the article was almost a total double page spread (there were just a couple of ads)... had a large picture of the rather bouncy 4 year old.

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:12

How exciting! What gives then? Are you going to give us any more than that?

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:10

Bit of gossip for you ladies - there is a child in the Evening Standard tonight, who I know. Not often I know anyone who appears in a newspaper - and also probably the first newspaper I have brought for about 4 years!

southernbelle77 · 15/01/2008 20:10

well Shoshe, how on earth did you know?!! That's me alright!!

shoshe · 15/01/2008 20:08

And he loves jumping in puddles! So why oh why hasnt he been snapped up , come on Ladies have you any single sisters or friends.

(second thoughts)

That would mean tho, that he would have a RL, and he wouldnt be here to bail us out

And saying YeeeHaaa! and twirling your plaits!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:05

He's not any old man, he is the font of all knowledge on anything childlike and knows all the rules and regs off the top of his head!

shoshe · 15/01/2008 20:05

SB, everytime I see your name, i think of you swishing around in a long dress, picking cotton and talking in a drawl.

I'm a nightmare, I stroll into places and just take over! Everyone knows me by the end of the session! You wouldn't believe it, would you? I'm so quiet and retiring on here!

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:00

You go ahead - put any singletons in my local area in touch

shoshe · 15/01/2008 20:00

Nick it is our mission this year to find you a lady

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:00

Bring me wine then and I'll think about it!

Could be worse, they could think of you as Mrs Doubtfire!

nannynick · 15/01/2008 19:59

Welcome PinkRanger... just for your information, I'm not a lady ... I'm a male nanny.

Know what you mean about finding people to chat with in person... I'm quite a shy person in RL, and hate going to new groups where I don't know anyone. I'm also often the odd-one-out which does not make it any easier.

shoshe · 15/01/2008 19:59

No SB, your a old gal now

OP posts:
southernbelle77 · 15/01/2008 19:57

shoshe · 15/01/2008 19:56

Not in a HULK sort of way Katy {grin] In a Eco way,

And Mrs Love, hmmmmmmmmm I will ignore that!

(My elder children liken me more to ................................................

Nanny McPhee but I have more warts.

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 19:55

Katy you are a godess of all things eco!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 19:53

I AM going to get a complex on here one day you know? That's the second time, TODAY that someone new has been warned about me!

Ignore Mary Poppins, (although I reckon she's more like that Nanny who leaves right at the begining of the film! ) you are very welcome in the Staff Room and I love your name! I am visualising a vision of pinkness on horseback!

Can you do links? If so, new members need to provide cakes in the morning!

KatyMac · 15/01/2008 19:51

Why do I turn people green?
