MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 22:31

No, you daft mare! MY mum is a head!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 21:46

shes a head and SHE hasnt done anything about her own dd!!!

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 18:35

True enough Nick, I don't know for sure, so I can easily stand back and be supportive.

I think its highly likely that the school will pick it up, if there is a problem. My mum has been a head teacher in this borough for 30 years and knows how the whole SENCO works round here. She's no doubt that it will be flagged up, sooner rather than later.

nannynick · 04/01/2008 18:25

My boss remembered my birthday , have a nice bottle to drink now on Sunday.

Went to RAF Hendon - traffic around the M25 was lovely (how often do you hear that) no holdup's at all. Got very confusing around M1 M25 junction, luckily took sat.nav. As a child I remember RAF Hendon being much bigger - mind you, I guess all places seem bigger when you are a child. Stayed about 2.5 hours, which wasn't too bad I guess - lunched in the interactive centre part.

Maureen - will school really pick up on it? Some schools are better than others, but for children at the HFA level, it can be hard to detect.
You are not qualified to diagnose Autism, and therefore you are not able to say to a child that their child is autistic. So if the parents did ask you why you had not mentioned about it you can say that you weren't in a position to pass such comments. More general comments such as - not very good at socialising with other children - could be a observation, you have mentioned to them in the past.

Thanks Mo! Hey can everyone go put their oar in about my freelancer thread? Can't do links! Sorry am rubbish

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 18:14

Sneaker. Now there's a good name.....

crace · 04/01/2008 18:09

Thanks sneaker! :P I feel a lot better about "going clean" and I've had good responses. I know need to get my numbers increased with Ofsted to keep them both!

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 15:57

Of you've never claimed before and you know you're telling the truth, then stop worrying! The lady on the end of the phone at the insurance company is just the same as you. She's not special and she's not god. Now you need to put in a claim for a new chair. No wait, chairs, otherwise it won't match. No wait, table as well, otherwise that won't match either!

I've finished the put that was my bedroom. God, it was bad. Bit of a dumping ground because its the only room that hasn't been done! That and the CM toys and double buggy have been stored in there since before Christmas. They're all out again now, ready for Monday.

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 15:42

STOP SNEAKING!..just come in>

nosnowthen · 04/01/2008 15:16

everyone else - hello

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 14:54

ah yes..1000 lines i DID read that earlier....so...im stressing about a insurance claim on my sofas at minute then what does my 3 yr old mindee do?................draw with felt tip all OVER my cream leather(fake leather) chairs in dining room!!!!!!!!.............arggggghhh...the black pen has come off..but the bright blue it even brighter now ive dettol/bleached it!

crace · 04/01/2008 14:49

Denial is a wonderful thing, you so want your chid to be "normal" and not to have problems. I mourned the loss of the child I had hopes and dreams for. Of course they are just different hopes and dreams but I was upset for the loss of what I wanted for him. College, kids, good job etc etc. Frankly, now I just want a peaceful life Him tying his shoes would be a start! ha

And of course you will be a good friend!

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 14:22

Thanks crace, I know it can be sorted and she'll be helped along side everyone in her class, no problem, its just I've been seeing this for so long and I want to bang her head on the wall sometimes for not noticing anything. I will be the best friend she needs, of course.

Tut, tut Rosie! Didn't read the whole thread then? I'm not working, because mindee decided to go to nannies for the day! No problem to me, he's an 8 year old, so I hadn't planned anything major.

crace · 04/01/2008 14:12

Mo, it's looking that way, sadly. My son is very much like that, and especially at 4.5. He's autistic. Something will be noticed at school, and frankly something should have been done-earlier the better with these things!

I would just be there for her - she won't blame you for not saying something but will be experiencing all sorts of emotions. I went through a very strange period of "mourning" and just be there to talk and share any knowledge that can help.

Fruitloop, it's been the longest shortest week ever. I only had Tuesday off too and it's been a nightmare this week. I need a nap!

On a positive thing I have told my 2nd full timer about the pregnancy and they took it very well and by the sounds of it will be hanging around until May when I stop. Phew.

fruitloop79 · 04/01/2008 13:42

Afternoon everyone. All kids asleep, it's sooo peaceful

Today marks a new healthier me! Drunk a litre of water already (I usually dont drink anything) and so far I've been very good. Just cutting out all the usual cr*p. and downsizing meal portions. Can't wait to shift this extra weight that's collected around my middle - serious muffin top no matter what I wear.

This week really seems to have dragged! I only had new years day off. DP's gone off skiing with the boys so it'll be just me and DS this weekend. Think I'll take him sale shopping tomorrow - he needs the practice, ha ha!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 13:11

LOl, how come your not working today then?

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 12:27

Yeah, I know, I've got to act ignorant about it all. There are many, many more signs of it tbh. Not holding eye contact, having to have strict routine. When I look on the aspergers website, its like a check list. She has all of them. I just hope it is picked up quite quickly. I will gladly eat my hat, if I'm completely wrong, but I know I'm not.

Nuff said! I am supposed to be gutting my bedroom and I've done nothing!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 12:21

no idea if those are signs or not?, but if she does say something to you..just bring up about when she told you nursery mentioned this..
shes either embarresed or ignorant and im sure her dd would have got lots of help by now if shed acted..even say you had wondered after nursery mentioned it but obv not your business(say that to her, thats not me telling you)..she ignored nursery why would she listen to anyone else?

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 12:17

She was advised by the nursery to take her to the doctors, because she was walking on her tip toes and very clumsy, but she chose to ignore it! She said, she's stopped doing it - she hasn't.

I'm going to be walking to school with her from next week too, so I hope I can not drop myself in it! I'm a bit short with people first thing in the morning!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 12:11

have you mentioned it to her before?

tbh i would 'act' in anyway, id just listen and ask what they said, what theyre doing, offer to find out about things for her? if she says did you know/think/guess..you could say you'd not really gave it much thought..she wont think any worse of you as a cm, just that you wern't being nosy..poor little thing, bless her, hope it gets sorted now

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 12:08

Right then. I would start a new thread for this, but I think its better sticking with the peeple who know me!

A friends dd (4.5) starts in reception next week. My other friend and I have suspected for at least the last two years, that she is on the austism spectrum. Not badly, probably controlable, but on it nevertheless. This friend is totally oblivious to it. Buries head or denies it, I don't know, but she thinks she's perfectly fine. When she starts school, next week, it will be picked up very quickly. Mother (head teacher) has said it'll be a matter of days. Now, when the sh*t hits the fan, how the hell am I going to react? She must know, that in my line of business, I have knowledge of this stuff. What am I going to do if she asks me why I didn't mention it or do I just say, 'oh, really?' because that is obviously a complete lie and I'm not sure I can lie about it?

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 12:05

aw just get drunk and enjoy...

yeah dad is fab...so is mum as well though..just not with oneanother..also hes set up evoucher sceme to pay me, they took the money out of his account but not put it in mine yet?..how long do these things normally take?

MaureenMLove · 04/01/2008 12:00

Its not your fault if they don't speak. You were only looking after your business and doing what was right. Don't worry about it. As long as you've got a good relationship with the one who pays you!

Moved mothers table, but have decided, on reflection, not to discuss her short comings on here, in light of what happened to LT!

First birthday celebrations at her house on Sunday, with some of my famly who can't make the official one on 20th! Getting wound up by the thought of it already!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 04/01/2008 11:52

Oh poo!, mindee who hasnt come n today-her mum and dad are not gtogether dad normally does drop off/collect....mum rang to say mindee out of sorts will let me know if shes coming..just text to say shes not(not poorly just restless night)..anyway as dad pays me monthly,i just emailed him to say not to rush(very good payers etc), i dont have to pay in till tues and hope his dd is ok...dad rings me wanting to know whats wrong with dd!..told him what id been told..he said he thinks she just didnt want to trek here today as she said(mum) shed bring dd today(theyve just moved, she was meant to get a life but otherwise two buses) and doesnt think she realises he still pays if she doesnt turn up(she DOES have a contract, but wether shes read/knows were it is)..sh*t..hope ive not put cat among pidgeons!..need to be paid and dad pays thats why i emailed him, but a bit now..crap
