Hi

I haven't minded for about 2 years now as I needed to focus on ds and his needs. However ds is doing ok now and a friend has asked me to look after her baby.

I am pretty sure that a current first aid certificate is a requirement now. Does anyone know if it will be ok for me to book for the next one to come up and still mind? Mine ran out sometime last year and I didn't bother renewing it as I hadn't planned on minding again.

Also are there any other things that have changed in the last 2 years that you think I should know about. Basically all I have now is a current registation and personal liability insurance.

Thanks in advance.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I suppose the thing is if you are just updating then you already have all the skills its just updating the certificate so effictively you are covered. Must add that i had inspection before i had got my updated first aid and OFSTED was fine as i showed them i had booked to go on course!

by wouldnt you want to know that you are covered?

I didnt have a current first aid cert before i started minding. You get 6 months from start of minding to do your ICP and First AID.

i would prob ask to join the 6 sessions new childminders do b4 they registar as they are full of curret info
they will also book you into the first aid courses (which now run for 2 days) and the food hygiene course
