Live in nanny with horses

I have a lovely little place with land and stables and I have just found out I am pregnant. I am considering employing a live-in nanny but am wondering if there are any out there who would be interested in a horsey lifestyle. Basically the 'deal' would be free board for their horse in exchange for some help with mine, or for the horseless, the opportunity to ride my horses. Plus of course looking after the small person.

Obviously it will be a long way off - I'm planning on taking 12 months off, but I am definitely one who likes to plan ahead.

Does anyone know where I can start looking??

Eeek that site looks a bit posh!

I can see how it could be interpreted like that but of course I wouldn't expect for someone just to work for board and lodgings...

Thanks ClearlyMoo for your help - that was what I was after :)

Ahh no I didn't mean that - the deal would be for them was to keep their horse free at mine in exchange for helping with my horses (saving them £250ish a month potentially), childcare is something different and would be paid at the going rate with hooman board included.

I know lots of nannies who would love this, sounds great! As long as the hours and pay are fair I don't think you'll have a problem finding someone op. Congratulations on you pregnancy!

The best place to advertise a bespoke rural nanny job like this would be in The Lady www.lady.co.uk/tlr

Well the pp is asking because you said this!

rinabean · 19/02/2015 16:09

Because you said the deal was board + horses for looking after your kid

AuntieDee · 19/02/2015 16:08

Erm well of course. I don't understand why you are asking that?

Presumably you would also be paying the nanny the going rate?
