I'm considering giving up the job hunt and working elsewhere

But I REALLY don't want to

I've been looking for a job since mid september (which I know isn't long in the grand scheme of things but it feels like a year) - I actually found one but gave my notice 2 weeks in because, frankly, I was treated like crap and I absolutely dreaded going in each day from about day 3...that was 4 weeks ago and I'm thoroughly fed up now.

Is it worth waiting until after christmas or should I just give up (I grent you I'm whining, but I'm fed up!)...I'm Ofsted registered. crb'd,1st aid trained, fab references but it's just not happening! And I live in London...hardly the back of beyond Wink

So....give up or stick it out a bit longer?

Hopefully 2014 will be a new job - it's harder to do two jobs 2/3 day to get them to fit in ad obv have 4 employers to please

Christmas is a bad time to look for a job and always quieter then other months

Think I said before could you temp? I do a lot of work via TINIES and my family care (emergency work) not sure if in your area tho a lot of London /big companies use mfc.

If you did do other work what would it be?

The situation is bad at the moment but if you love looking after children please keep trying even if you have to look at other options.

It is demoralising knowing you cannot get a job you've trained for and are good at but it's not your fault so don't take it personally.

I wouldn't give up as you enjoy nannying - but as Leeds said there are less jobs about at moment and def employers market

But obv you need a salary coming in. Have you thought about temping?

And maybe apply for other jobs while you look for the right nanny job

Agree no point staying in a job you absolutely hated

I'd stick it out, but it depends if you can afford to and how likely you are to get another job. I don't think it's easy to get any job at the moment, so if you don't have qualifications and/or experience in another area then you're probably going to struggle there as well.

Maybe see if you can get a Christmas temp job, but carry on looking for nanny jobs as well?
