Nanny out of order? I am furious.

I have just had to nip out of work on an errand and have passed my nanny at a nearby bustop, which is on a very busy road. My beloved DC was with her but holding the hand of a woman who I have never seen before in my life (I am presuming it will turn out to be the nannies mother). I am absolutely furious about this on so many levels...why is she with her mother when she should be at work focusing on my DC?...why is she making the judgement that someone other than her is allowed to touch my DS precious little hand and keep him safe?...please help me to focus and to figure out how to approach the subject when I get in tonight.

Are you lot seriously wondering why the OP didn't come back?

I'm with getting real. Perhaps the OP has overreacted a bit but "my DC's precious little hand" is just emotion talking. She was clearly surprised and upset.

I wouldn't like to see my DC holding the hand of a total stranger on a busy road. Perhaps she'll calm down and talk it through with the nanny, but some of the comments on this thread are really awful.

I've just had a post deleted for suggesting someone was a troll :please Miss, please Miss, they said it too!:

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/07/2012 15:23

Am assuming that as the op didn't come back and reply then was a troll

If the nanny is standing next to the child, then she is supervising him personally, even if he happens to be holding her friend's hand at one particular moment in time.

gettingrealnow · 10/07/2012 21:03

Hello? Give the OP a break!

I wouldn't be happy either if I see my child on the hand of a stranger - on a busy road. If I entrust a nanny to look after my child I would expect her to always supervise him personally.

And if the nanny introduces other people to look after my child (even ever so briefly), I would definitely be expecting to be made aware of those people.

I have no idea why you are all in such a knot about the OP being rightly upset... maybe the OPs wording was a bit overly emotional but the situation would warrant a serious talk with the nanny in my house.

ReetPetit · 10/07/2012 19:28

curious as to whether you spoke to your nanny op? where are you?

Titchyboomboom · 06/07/2012 22:40

My mindee loves my sister and frequently chooses to hold her hand, pass her the reins to hold or ask her to push her buggy... I would hope that the parents wouldn't go crackers if they saw this

minderjinx · 06/07/2012 22:29

Well if it was magbags, nanny will have had her talking to by now. Perhaps she will be on in the morning to let us know who the mystery woman was.

GhouliaYelps · 06/07/2012 22:28

Calm down dear.

How on earth do you leave him with a CM at all with such a paranoid attitude?

LynetteScavo · 06/07/2012 22:26

I actually worked for someone like the OP once. People who think like this really are out there.

whatinthewhatnow · 06/07/2012 22:21

yeah, magbags is a real poster apparently. that poor nanny.

FunnysInLaJardin · 06/07/2012 22:18

maybe OP had been at the gin?

ReetPetit · 06/07/2012 22:13

where is op?? perhaps she is sanitising pfb precious little hand Grin lol

LeeCoakley · 06/07/2012 22:13

But why didn't you stop and give her a lift? That would mean she could get back to 'work' and 'focus' on your PFB a lot sooner.

You need to change your name to madbags!

numbertaker · 06/07/2012 22:08

LOL - look after your own kid if you want perfection.

exoticfruits · 06/07/2012 22:05

Strange that OP didn't go over and have a chat. Surely a Nanny will be out and about interacting with people? I would have thought it impossible to stay in an isolated bubble - and hardly desirable. Why appoint a Nanny if you think their mother is a problem?

ReetPetit · 06/07/2012 21:58

maybe she's been hacked?? (hopeful smiley needed....)

FunnysInLaJardin · 06/07/2012 21:56

very odd behaviour from a regular poster

ReetPetit · 06/07/2012 21:37

magbags is a regular poster!!! lol lol lol

CheerfulYank · 06/07/2012 21:36

This is a joke

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/07/2012 21:20

good point magic - this is true op, if you were that concerned then why didnt you go over and casually said boo to your nanny

the more i think about it, if i was out and my mb saw me, i would like to think she would come and say hello to me

ReetPetit · 06/07/2012 20:56

oh dear Shock have just searched and op is actually a fairly regular poster.....

'my ds precious little hand' i don't mean to be rude but i think you really do have some issues going on here. maybe it's best you stay at home???
what will you do when your ds starts school??? quite a few people will be touching pfb precious little hand then, lol Grin

magicOC · 06/07/2012 20:54

One serious point to make OP

You clearly weren't that concerned, because if you were

Why didn't you go and rescue him?
