I'd be really interested to know, to see if my childminder is as competitively priced as I think she is.....

We used to pay £7 if we needed a morning (8-8.20 including walk to bus) and £14 for an after school session (3.50p to anytime up to 6pm). Three days a week. No meals provided (they did get an afternoon snack). So if I used all the mornings ...£63 per week for three days after school care.

We binned that off and I have cut my hours by 6 hrs a week, which actually adds up to more than twice that amount but we are ok with that for now.

I am in the southeast, commuter area

I pay my CM for before and after shcool care £5 an hour to include breakfast and dinner. She charges £4.50 an hour for all day children and if I want to send dd is the holidays. I have a term time only contract.

I used to send dd to nursery which was around £50 a day, 51 weeks a year, so CM is definatly working out cheaper now dd is at school.

£35 per 8-hour day at my CM, which includes meals. Same at nursery.

£40 each per day for my pre-schoolers at nursery.

£3.60 per hour nursery for a 2 year old. Includes snacks but it's an extra £1.90 for a meal. They only charge half the fee if child is absent due to sickness, and although you have to pay if you take child on holiday you can make up the sessions you have paid for afterwards for no extra cost.

£40 per day for nursery for DS1 (11 months). Nursery is open for 11 hours so technically £3.63 per hour although we've never actually used the full 11 hours (and hopefully never will). We get a slight discount on the basis of DS attending a minimum of 6 sessions per week (ie 3 full days). This includes meals and snacks and drinks but not formula or nappies.

All very reasonable compared to our evening babysitter who charges £7 per hour plus bus/fare or taxi home (depending upon the hour).

RitaMorgan · 27/06/2011 10:47

£4.90 an hour for nursery for an under-2. Includes meals and snacks but not nappies.

You may be better off posting this question on the childminders, nannies etc board. I can't add anything more helpful than that, sorry.

Our childminder charges £22 a day. We provide meals.
Our previous childminder charged £24 a day and meals were included.

Both are from 8am until 6pm (although our dd is there 7:45 until around 4:30; occasionally later).

We're in the North East.

Depends on where you live, if before school, with/without meals, exclusive (no other children) or not, etc. More info required.
