I need a new car, 4x4 has 7 seats but middle seat doesn't have seatbelt so only 6, and I need 7!

I ideally need it for both stage 2 and booster seats. I don't care how massive it is or what fuel it takes! I just need it for myself and six children between 0-8.

Many many thanks xxxx

Mitsubishi Grandis, love it, very roomy and two proper seats in the very back unlike some of the 7 seaters that have flimsy deck chair type. Bit juicy though.

adalle · 11/04/2011 23:58

Years ago we had a Volvo estate that was a seven seater, 2 pop up seats in the boot it was diesel, automatic and like driving a nippy tank but I loved it. Not sure if they still do similar models.

looneytune · 11/04/2011 23:43

Yippeeeee. I love mine even more now I'm seeing the more it does. Today I discovered it tells me how many miles roughly til I next need fuel LOL - the novelty of these gadgets, newest car for me too (last one was a R reg Wink) Tell us what you think once you've got it! :)

QueenandKingMum · 11/04/2011 19:16

I bought a car!!! Sorry LT but copied you, completely. Visited a couple of dealers and test drove a Sedona, Sharan, Zafira and a C8. Loved the C8 but nearly 7k so out.

As I was driving home I saw one at a local pub that the owner was selling. A 2007 C8 with 8 seats, yes EIGHT seats. I'm thrilled. Pick it up Friday - I can't wait, it's like a bus! Has aircon compartment to keep drinks cool?! lol, I am so excited. Newest car I've ever owned!

QueenandKingMum · 08/04/2011 19:56

I am going to see a C8 tomorrow LT, and a Kia Sedona as it happens to be there. Will have to check out the Previa as well thanks you lot xx

Ouch, it was you that burst my ear drum was it!! Grin.

I was going to say it was you then thought best not and then you could say if you came along :) Was going to ask you about the multimac but I won't LOL. Give me a shout when it's done so I can come and have a nosey!

Yes, HSMM's car is FAB!! And I look forward to seeing it as a 9 seater!!

HSMM · 07/04/2011 22:08

What Looney said - I am that CM. I had a Toyota Previa - loved it. I have a Toyota Estima - love it. Waiting and waiting and waiting and about to swear about my Multimac seat, which was supposed to be fitted today ... Sorry have to go before you hear me shouting!

looneytune · 07/04/2011 21:21

Yes, Toyota Previa also very good from what I've seen from other CMs (she had that before the Estima - if I've got that the right way round? LOL)

looneytune · 07/04/2011 21:21

I've got the Citreon C8 (same as Peugeot 807) and I love it now (took some getting used to - as I said, loved the Sharan! lol). Was worried about fitting 3 boosters in back row but once that sorted and saw how happy the kiddies were being able to sit next to each other, it's not a problem at all :) I would have liked to be able to turn seats round like the Toyota Estima (mine can turn round but not for driving whereas I know another childminder who can drive with them turned and it's much better for space) but I searched and searched and nothing in my price range came up so went for that. Still, I'm very happy now I'm used to it and the kids LOVE the sliding doors! LOL

chabbychic · 07/04/2011 21:13

Toyota Previa. LOVE IT.

QueenandKingMum · 07/04/2011 21:12

I'm really liking the look of it LT! I have a Seat Alhambra to see on Saturday which is similar? I can't wait! What's the 8 seater??

decide to BUY I meant!

looneytune · 07/04/2011 20:21

I LOVED my Sharan!! R reg so old but bloomin reliable and great for space. I'm only selling it as had to upgrade to an 8 seater very recently! I used to fit a triple buggy AND single buggy in the boot with plenty of foot well space for bags etc. I know it sounds mad as really mine's a banger now and my nice newer car is lovely but I will really be sad to see my lovely Sharan go!! I can highly recommend! Mine had a lap belt in the middle seat (middle row) but those are fine with certain car seats.

Good luck with whatever you decide to by :) x

p.s. nice to see you back on here over the last few days!

nbee84 · 07/04/2011 20:20

The ford fiesta on page 2 has some good pictures

nbee84 · 07/04/2011 20:15

From looking at the pictures on the installation bit, they fit over your existing car seat. I can imagine they would be heavy and awkward to put in and out so probably not suitable for someone that needs to change between child and adult often.

Ripeberry · 07/04/2011 19:34

Those seats look great but what about the original seat, do they give it back to you to get it fitted again? And what if you need to carry adults in the back?

QueenandKingMum · 07/04/2011 18:57

Ahem, Sharan I meant

QueenandKingMum · 07/04/2011 18:57

So those with Alhambra are relatively happy with it? Is the Galaxy or Shana any better/worse?

OP posts:
QueenandKingMum · 07/04/2011 18:53

Wow, how fab are those seats!!

Grin glad to have helped Grin

fyrtlemertile · 07/04/2011 15:14

nbee84, those are fantastic! I'm expecting DC4 and the financial strains of getting a new car were stressing DH and I out but the 4 seater thingy looks great, I can get 3 tiny baby seats in too! I think you might have made my day! :)

nbee84 · 07/04/2011 14:58

These are expensive, but may be worth the investment. They look great, but I don't have first hand experience of using one.

Frimblypoo · 07/04/2011 14:46

Grand Scenic, love it for 5 but as seats 6&7 are fold down ones in boot I wouldn't personally like to use them on a daily basis

pinkhebe · 07/04/2011 14:43

We have an alhambra. it's great although i don't regularly have all 6 seats with car seats. But they are all full size seats so there wouldn't be a problem
