I am a childminder and I lost all the data that was stored on there after they terminated our account. A lot of my parents are really worried about where the data is now being stored etc as the company haven't given us any straight answers.

I think it's different to internet banking etc and they are regulated and have certain ways of doing things, a complaints procedures, independent complaints bodies etc. Baby's Days don't seem to have any of that. I wish I'd never used them TBH.

Hi, Im due to go back to work in a couple of months and have found a really nice nursery, they record the childrens progress via an online system called Babysday but im not 100% sure im happy with my childs data being stored on line , I was wondering, does anyone else have a child in a nursery that use Babysdays and how have you found it?

Thanks takesalongtime, I was refused the update and they are still refusing it, I think they gave it to everyone other customer bar 2 of us. What kinds of problems are you having with photos? Maybe I can help? If you're using apple device make sure it's updated as that caused them lots of issue also the second upload button works better it seems, and the first one works ok if there are 10 or less photos form my experience.

Have you noticed they changed their T&Cs today? I've decided to set up a long where people can post their (factual and evidenced) experiences of the company.

I use it- I agree system fab! I get updates, was done just few days ago. It's really great. Have been having probs uploading photos though and they've not been very supportive in helping solve this issue. But I can get over that

navyeye · 19/11/2014 15:32

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to make people aware!

I've used it for about 4 years and the actual programme is fab but the customer service is shocking. I am a fully paid up customer yet I am not allowed to receive any updates to my system. They wont tell me why. They will only tell me that the director is in charge of who does and doesn't get updates and as I have dared to mention that I find their support rude and abrupt - I obviously am being penalised for this.

I'm obviously going to have to switch to one of their competitors which is such a shame because the system is amazing and all my parents love it! I'm devastated!

THIS THREAD IS 3 YEARS OLD PINKCHICK! And there are now several alternatives for folk to choose from that are also free and without drama thanks.

Right, so you go into M and S, you don't like the clothes, do you go to the manager and have a go at him for his clothes, no, you either buy and wear the clothes or you go else where.

Now I don't know about many childminders, but think how many of you speak towards the situation of agencies or government people, not naming names. You do this as you are stressed, have loads of stuff on your plate and you are all having a right go at these people.

Now babysdays in reality has not been around very long. When you start up a business, you don't have loads of people to help, you have little money and have to do it all yourself until you build the business and then manage to employ people to help, but this can only be done when money comes in, money can only come in as people buy. The more people that buy the more people one person has to deal with, as well as re inventing lots of other bits for the system to please everyone.

Writing computer softwear is not easy and its very time consuming, that's why web designers charge so much. Now I don't know how many people use babysdays, but I would assume its probably 4000 or more, how is it possible for a small company to constantly answer everyone when they call. Eventually when its big enough and the funds are their, no doubt they will have dedicated call handlers, but that's expensive.

I wish people could look beyond everything and thing of what Mark is actually doing, and has done for us, he has invented something that has saved my life, I wish people would see, in life some people may get stressed, they may be trying to help people constantly and could snap or get fed up, is it a wonder, with that many people to please and running a new business with probably a small work force, not an easy thing.

Not more babysdays slatting, look, you either like something or you don't, why do people behave like this.

chabbychic · 22/12/2010 21:02

Yes I do remember. Hence why I only ever post on mumsnet to give or ask for simple advice... learned a long time ago to stay well clear of everything else!

nannynick · 22/12/2010 20:59

People tend to post and dash at times, so niceties get missed a bit. "cut n thrust" yep that sort of describes this part of Mumsnet.

Hey could be worse, you could have started posting on AIBU - that would be been a real baptism of fire. Very scary board that one Grin

Oh and you will find that some message threads have a strange magical power of drawing you in and not letting you leave. You have to just get up and go sometimes... like I did this evening, I went to the gym. Time for dinner now.

3children · 22/12/2010 19:04

nannynick sorry to you also , I didnt mean to imply you sat around ignoring the kids, I meant literally how do you find the time ? I can feel myself getting completely drawn in and not wanting to come away....NO MATTER WHAT lol ;)

3children · 22/12/2010 19:01

More like cut throat, you're like vipers, lol Thanks ! Grin Im a mumsnet / forum virgin, a hopeless case cos I cannot be this aggressive !

BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/12/2010 18:57

ach, no problem

discussion fora can be tricky beasts

stick around

be prepared for cut n thrust rather than nicey-nicey, we speak as we find but the CMs here are a great bunch

3children · 22/12/2010 17:28

And BALD sorry, things can get misconstrued in text or email, I look like a right pissy cow putting END OF in caps, it was only for emphasis ! Blush

3children · 22/12/2010 17:26

BALD just in general, not you or any specific user per se, Im talking in general. I havent once set out to cause friction, Ive emphasised that throughout but there is so much attention drawn to the negatives Im being drawn in myself lol Keep trying to be reasonable and light hearted but to no avail. Just find it frustrating and such an opinionated site. Its not for me methinks....nobodys fault, Im just not that way inclined.

3children · 22/12/2010 17:21

looneytune you may be thinking WTF but I have tried to post reasonably to this thread. I just think its unfair to slate someone and draw people into a discussion for them to then be "shouted" down for having an opinion ! It doesnt matter who likes/dislikes but we are all entitled to defend and speak up. End Of ! Biscuit

BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/12/2010 17:18

um

Could you explain what behaviour has appalled you today, please?

I linked to a very old thread to illustrate a point I made

You told me to LET IT GO (your caps)

End of story, so I thought

looneytune · 22/12/2010 17:14
Hmm
3children · 22/12/2010 17:09

I dont understand why Mark is getting slated so much for his system or for how he responds to posts. I have never met him but have spoken on the phone and via email and he is really professional , informative and genuinely nice. The poor man has literally had to phone his babysdays users to defend himself,How sad is that ??? Ive just had my call and I back him 100%. I love his site and my parents are really happy with it. I pay £9.99 a month for a system which allows me free time to concentrate more on the children in my care. Give him a break and stop deleting his posts. Everyone should be entitled to defend themselves. From what I have witnessed and experienced today as a new user I am appalled at how some of the users on here conduct themselves....and they look after children !

nannynick · 22/12/2010 17:07

You will find that people will post on mumsnet when:

Biscuit They don't have children present

Biscuit Children are busy occupying themselves

3children · 22/12/2010 16:51

I have to say, I havent got children this afternoon....lucky me....but how do you find the time to write constantly on this site ??? Just wondering ! I know I wont be logging in too much. Too bitchy for me allround. Its a shame that youre happy enough to slate people and draw people into your slanging matches. BALD , you need to LET IT GO ....ok so you dont rate the system but So what, we are all entitled to like , dislike, have an opinion etc.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/12/2010 16:41

no promotion of your system, here, for eg, Mr BabysDays

Hmm
3children · 22/12/2010 16:37

Ok I think this ones done to death I havent set out to cause friction in any way. I had a positive experience and wanted to express that and I hope I dont need to "soft soap" anybody, again not my intention. I simply expressed my experience. I also handwrite everything pippin and was commended with outstanding aspects on my own merit. But hey ho we are all entitled to our own opinions and views. I try not to judge people or be negative . Im feeling a real girl power vibe on here lol :) Hopefully I'll still be allowed to express myself without causing further damage or harm, definitely unintentional. I get it... BD did many wrongs on site and thats not good, but sorry I cant say bad stuff ,cos he hasnt to me and wouldnt about anyone as Im hopefully more professional than that and refuse to resort to playground tactics , surely thats acceptable and fair !
