Has anyone been advised of preterm birth risk after late caesarean?

Hi! Looking for anyone that has been told similar and what there experience ended up being…

my first baby was born via emergency c section at 10cm dilated due to both me and him catching sepsis whilst I was in active labour. Now pregnant with baby number two and went for my first midwife appt yesterday. Midwife said that because my first birth was c section at 10cm dilated, it could cause my next baby to come pre term due to my cervix potentially not closing properly after the last birth. I have never heard of this before and looking to see if anyone else has been told this and how pregnancy/birth with the second baby went?

Hi OP, I was also the same 4 years ago EMCS fully dilated, now 28 weeks pregnant with my second and at my 20 week scan also had a cervical length scan which showed as borderline at 26mm (if under 25mm then they can intervene). Had a repeat one 2 weeks later to see if it had changed and it had dropped to 15mm and funneling! (went full term with first no issues) Booked in for an emergency suture the morning after and so far so good! So in my case the c section definitely did do some damage/cut some of my cervix but doesn't happen to everyone 😬

This is a link that is being more and more recognised now. It should be standard practice to offer cervical length scanning to anyone who has had a full dilation C-section previously.

Never heard of this and it was never mentioned, however I had emergency section at 10cm after pushing for 2 hours, next pregnancy was pre term. Maybe there is a link!

I can't speak about a whole pregnancy as I'm only 19 weeks, but I also had a c section at full dilation and I've got to have a cervical check tomorrow at the same time as the 20 week scan and I have a referral to the preterm clinic. I assume the results of the scan will determine what happens next.
