Hello

I really like the name Marlow for a boy. What do you think?

I'm worried that it sounds too much like Marlon which i don't like.

Also how would you spell it - Marlow, Marloe, Marlo etc?

And what could it be shortened to if anything?

Thankyou

Twice zombie! Unbelievable. People really need to get a life.

MikeUniformMike · 21/11/2017 22:19

Saw the thread and was going to recommend it. Lovely for a day out.

JoVH · 21/11/2017 17:01

Remind me in 8 years!

How about Arlo or Milo?

TerrysChocolateOrange761 · 21/11/2017 16:04

Just realised that this is a zombie thread- oops.

TerrysChocolateOrange761 · 21/11/2017 16:02

I don't like it (sorry).

DiegoMadonna · 21/11/2017 14:58

I created an account just to tell Tapwater to chill a bit. Jessie6564 did NOT tell people what opinions they could and couldn't express. Comments like yours are why many people consider MN to be a site plagued by helicopter parents and self righteous, judging harpies!

TurquoiseDress · 23/11/2015 07:01

Sorry don't like it, just makes me think of the town in ?Buckinghamshire!

Also seems a bit interchangeable between boy and girl, personally I dislike names where you cannot work out the sex of the person.
But that's just my opinion!

IoraRua · 22/11/2015 18:38

Did you really drag up an old thread to tell posters from 5 years ago they are wrong?
Bloody 'ell.
I don't like the name at all, either.

Seasider73nz · 22/11/2015 17:34

My sons name is Marlow too, but we spell it Marlo thanks for sharing the nickname "Mars" very cute love it.

leahc429 · 06/08/2015 21:43

Just joining in here but we have just named our little boy Marlow and we love it.

Falconwolf101 · 17/03/2015 11:16

I like it spelt as Marlow XD

Annabannbobanna · 17/03/2015 04:21

I have a friend called Marlo, she is Puerto Rican. I think it is very pretty.... for a girl.

rootypig · 17/03/2015 04:14

ooof zombie thread.

Quasilulu · 17/03/2015 04:01

I knew a man with that surname. He was just like Alan Partridge so I honestly am not keen.

Tapwater · 16/03/2015 15:59

Jessie, did you actually search for your child's name and join Mn in order to tell people what opinions they could and couldn't express on a thread that is 5 years old??? Clue: when someone starts a thread on a names forum asking for opinions on a name, people are allowed to give them.

carolinehi · 16/03/2015 13:18

Totally agree with Jessie6564 and am shocked at how rude and opinionated some people are in their comments. It's a cool name. Name is far better than some of the awful names people call their kids.

Jessie6564 · 08/02/2015 01:02

I know this thread is totally out of date but I joined mumsnet just to comment on it. We have a little boy named Marlow and we love the name. It's unusual but not "weird" IMHO. Also I think "Mars" is a fun nick name.Grin

DomesticG0ddess · 13/07/2010 19:53

I like it. Cakeandroses, I LOVE the wire and we have joked about Omar, Avon, Brodie...
