Tristan?

We really like the name Tristan. Just wondering what others thoughts are? Is it a name most people have heard of? I like unusual names but not too unusual like my own where I always have to spell it out to new people! Thanks for your comments.

Made me think of Tristan and Isolde too - lovely classic name. Not sooo keen on Marcus though.

I really like it, one of those rare boy's names which is not used a lot but is still mainstream enough not to be odd.

I think of Tristan and Isolde so it's quite a romantic name to me.

Yes, he will get called Christian / Tristian for a while
Means loud and noisy - be warned
And when DS was just starting to talk he called himself Tis-tis, it's become my pet name for him

Interested to see Kathleen123's comments. My mum, also called Kathleen, named my brother Tristan in the 70's. It stood out quite a lot then, (perhaps until 'All Creatures Great and Small).

Once someone said 'how's he going to manage with that name when he's working on a building site?'. My mum said 'he won't be, that's the point of giving him a name like 'Tristan'.

i went to infants school with a Tristan and he always had a snotty face.
Sorry it doesnt help but reading the name reminded me.

DS2 is Tristan. Love it. Means noisy one and did we ever name him right.............

I knew a naughty Tristan when I was at secondary school - a headmaster's sone. Didn't put me off the name though. It's a good choice.
