Is two middle names ok?...Opinions please.

After a previous post from this morning someone suggested the idea that I use two middle names.
The name would be Martha Ellen Rosa with Lynch as the surname.
Our baby due in 3 weeks was originally going to be Martha Ellen (Ellen being a family name) but we both fell in love with Rosa and couldn't decide. Martha Rosa just didn't sound right to me. However all three together does.
We already have two boys and this is going to be our last child and therefore our only daughter so I don't want to 'save' any names.

What's your opinion on two middle names?

I think that name sounds great and with Lynch as a surmane (David Lynch , film director is one of my hero's) so in my opinion pretty cool name all round. You've got me thinking about two middle names now

I know a little girl with three middle names.

Personally I think one middle name is perfect.

My son and 2 daughters all have 2 middle names - all family related.

Do what feels right for you both.

I have two and I find it a massive nuisance. I have to fill out so many forms with my full name. Also there are loads of things where you have to put your initials in and there's only three boxes. I've pretty much dropped one of them off now. Naturally my mother is massively offended.

DD has two (long!) middle names and my brother has 5. No problem at all.

My DS2 has two middle names, one of them being my maiden name. It isn't a problem.

I have two middle names and although I like them both and the sound of my name all together it is a bit of a nuisance at times because so many forms etc assume that you only have one. So for example I've just applied for a new credit card, but the on line form only has space for one initial. But I have two obviously, so I don't like to use just one of them, because that's not my name, and then I worry a bit about not using any (but usually go that way) because that's not my name either.

My children just have the one middle name as a result.

My three boys have two middle names and so will my daughter, after my maternal grandmother and DH's maternal grandmother. It's easier to keep everyone happy that way - we've got all of my and DH's grandparents covered this way.

Your name choices are all lovely btw.

Ours are getting 3 middle names. DS1 originally had just one middle name, which is a family surname from my side. Our surname (DH's) is a peculiar Scandinavian one that looks like a typo. So a more user-friendly one as middle name seemed like it would give DS options.

DS2 now in production and we decided that he should have same middle name as DS1, plus one of his own. And that DS1 should get another middle name of his own. Aargh I'm explaining this badly.

DS1: Firstname New-middle-name-added Family-name Surname

DS2: Firstname Own-middle-name Family-name Surname

DS1 v pleased with new extra name. Will have to explain that he won't get a new middle name for every subsequent sibling, though, cos could get silly.

Thanks for the reply's so far. Still trying to convince DH that two middle names is a good idea.

Totally fine.

We have 2ds's. Both have the same middle names after our late Dad's who died befored they were born.

When DS1 was born we wanted to mark their existance in his life and when DS2 came alomg we did the same, so that one DS's middle names are no more significant than the others.

We tend to use their full names when they are being a bit naughty!

DC5 has 4

I wouldve had more but one has to draw the line somewhere

Both DC's have two middle names. Ds with the two middle names of mine and his dad's fathers (could not have possibly given him their first names as middle names - far too seventies!). Dd also, one a family name and the other the name we really liked alongside her first name and found it hard to choose.

my dd has to middlenames and a double barreled sirname- some might say thats cruel but i loved all three names so much i just couldnt choose between them!!

I have 2 middle names, my DH has 2 middle names (his brother has 3 middle names) and DD has 2 middle names too! Nothing wrong with it IMO.

My DSs have two middle names. I like it and wish I had given DD two middle names as well. The only problem comes when you have to fill in a form and can't fit all of the names in the space provided!

I have two middle names - I like it,and the only downside was filling in forms as my first name,one of the middle names,and my (pre-marriage)surname were all longer than average!

I think the names you have chosen sound lovely together - go for it!

DD has 2 middle names, one from each side of the family. Next DC will have 2 middle names as well.

Our daughter has 3 given names. It is hard to make three names "flow," if you know what I mean.
