No, it is not a unisex name. Almas is a girls' name, just like the names of all shiny & pretty things

Those websites all copy from eachother so the mistake of one gets repeated a zillion times. I wouldn't trust English websites on names of foreign origin.

I've seen Almas on a couple of sites listed as a boy's name.... so is it a unisex name but in practice usually for a girl?

Does it have to be a name of religious significance or will any Arabic name do?

Sarab (mirage)

Amir/Emir (prince)

... For example.

Among names with religious significance, I like Ali for a boy.

I work with a lovely Libyan lady who is called Safia,I'm afraid I don't know what her name means but she is a lovely person and a wonderful doctor and I think the name is beautiul hth ps congratulations on your pg

am... religous i guess? My dh is Algerian... And we'r both muslim...
I like Amina and Soumia (nn Mia) as my girls names so far and Samir, Kamal and Said for boys names... Any suggestions would be great too, thanks
