Katie - first thing that comes into your head when you hear the name?

DP & I both really like the name & it sounds really good with our girl middle name & surname, but when looking on a few websites they said something we hadn't thought of, just wanted to know the 1st thing that comes into peoples heads when they hear the name to see if we need to change our minds. Thanks

Katie Price.

Second was "What Katie Did" though, if that's any consolation.

BikeRunSki · 11/06/2010 21:44

My lovely friend who is Katie for Kathleen.

shimmerysilverglitter · 11/06/2010 21:44

That this is the name that my sister was going to be called.

It was also in the top 3 for dd. I think it is such a pretty name.

Also prefer Katie spelling rather than Katy.

Kate lovely too.

strongblackcoffee · 11/06/2010 21:43

Hopkins

unfitmother · 11/06/2010 21:42

I've heard of Jordan, don't associate her with 'Katie' at all.

plonker · 11/06/2010 21:41

Ah I love the name Katie

Love Kate too!

MarcoTardellisgoalcelebration · 11/06/2010 21:37

Hopkins - not a good thought

Katie Price

Kate is ace though

ArseHolio · 11/06/2010 21:36

being ansolutly twatted in sundissential toilets with my friend Katy was the first thing that came in to my head.

Not sure that is any better that Katie Price tbh.

Minshu · 11/06/2010 21:35

My DD's name is similar, and there is a lovely little girl at a baby group we go to called Katie (gorgeous, gorgeous). Another friend's DD who is a bit picky - but has just turned 3, so that's not unexpected

Never thought Price, tbh

gwendolenlongstocking · 11/06/2010 21:35

Nohting really. Would never think of Katie Price. If I really try and think of something, the first thing is prob "waity katie" as the tabloids call Kate Middleton. Which is not exactly the kind of thing that will overshadow a Katie's life.

PartialToACupOfMilo · 11/06/2010 21:35

I was always a Katie as a child (with 'ie' not 'y'), but more often Kate now and I love my name

ShadeofViolet · 11/06/2010 21:32

Katie Price = Jordan.

Then this woman I cant bloody stand who is also called Katie.

Such a shame as its such a nice name!

katechristie · 11/06/2010 21:29

what katy did or what katy did next.
very pretty girl's name IMO.
I prefer Y rather than IE tho, but that's probably because the katy's I've known have been katy not katie.
But then I'm biased of course .

Purplebuns · 11/06/2010 21:27

Lovely! Far more positive associations than neg.
Kate Bush, what Katy did and my (almost)SIL is Kate who has just finished her masters degree and is fabulous!

Rockbird · 11/06/2010 21:27

I have a friend called Katie who is the loveliest, funniest, sweetest person I've ever met. I think of her when I hear it. Lovely name.

cory · 11/06/2010 21:26

I like it. Katie Price will soon be forgotten about but the name itself is timeless.

pumperspumpkin · 11/06/2010 21:23

Katie Price here too in a hypothetical answer to your question way. Am so so so relieved I'm not the only one.

Having said that if you introduced me to your baby daughter Katie I don't think it would register at all, unless your surname is also Price.

LaRagazzaInglese · 11/06/2010 21:22

girl i went to primary school with who always wet herself! i certainly don't think of Price, but i think Kate is so beautiful.

RaceyLacey · 11/06/2010 21:21

BAcofoil - brilliant, ha ha!

unfitmother - I love you!

Yay, loads more love it than think Price.

Katie X and Katie Y - two girls at my DCs school. And Katie Z, a toddler I know.

But FGS don't worry about Katie Price - does anyone seriously think she is still going to be famous in ten years' time?

RaceyLacey · 11/06/2010 21:20

Oooh, a little bit over 50/50. I really like it and I could overlook the Price connection, just need to convince DP.

Getting a bit ahead of myself as I have no idea what baby is and not due until December but I like to be organised

Thank you, keep the positives coming!
