Corin or Rowan

Just looking for some responses on either Corin or Rowan for a baby boy. I have posted on here before about both names and these are the two we are down to! I'm more for Rowan and DH likes Corin more. I am concerned that as they are both unisex names the child could be assumed to be a girl! Would welcome your thoughts and preferences. Many thanks.

Corin.

Rowan

Though I loved horse and his boy, I can't help thinking Corin is like Colin, pronounced wrong ...

minipie · 11/06/2010 11:30

Oh I love them both.

Had totally forgotten the name Corin. Does anyone remember Cor and Corin from A Horse and his Boy (CS Lewis)?

Torin is nice too (there's a broadcaster called Torin Douglas, isn't there?)

Lionstar · 11/06/2010 11:23

Like them both, but would probably tend more towards Corin. How about Corbin? (have probably suggested that before)

BessieBoots · 11/06/2010 11:21

Rowan! Oooooh it's so lovely!

LadyCad · 11/06/2010 11:20

rowan

lidofabiro · 11/06/2010 11:20

The first people who spring to mind are

Corin Redgrave
Rowan Atkinson

xcatex · 11/06/2010 09:48

Rowan is a beautiful name

waitingforbedtime · 11/06/2010 09:17

Rowan is lovely. Corin is too like Corrinne.

Disenchanted3 · 11/06/2010 09:06

PS I love Rowan for a girl, I think its lovely.

I wanted to call DD Rowan but we DH and I knew a Rowan at school (boy) and DH didn't like him. (He was a nob)

Disenchanted3 · 11/06/2010 09:05

Ooh, thought this was a girls name thread!

Corinne for a girl, but definatly Rowan for a boy!

boodleboot · 11/06/2010 09:03

Rowan. Great for a boys name bit for a girls name imo

NiceCuppaT · 10/06/2010 22:49

I love rowan for a boy or a girl, but it's on my girls list and I'm worried about it being thought of as more of a boys name!!

narmada · 10/06/2010 22:48

I like Corin. The fact it's unisex wouldn't put me off.

lidofabiro · 10/06/2010 22:46

Much prefer Corin.

LetThereBeRock · 10/06/2010 22:46

Rowan.

theagedparent · 10/06/2010 22:44
