Hera or Romilly?

RnB · 09/06/2010 16:00

Am 40+10 and still no name for this baby if its a girl. I think this is my final shortlist. Romilly would be shortened to Romy.

I already have Benedict & Rex. Your opinions please!

It's Rom-illy - pretty much as it looks.

loler · 14/06/2010 15:15

How is Romilly said? I have never met one but do know a Romy. Is it Rome-illy or Rom- elly?

Never heard of Hera but like lots.

Good luck with no.3.

frakkit · 14/06/2010 15:06

Romilly, definitely.

"come here, Romilly" is better than "come here, Hera"!

saslou · 14/06/2010 15:03

They are both lovely names (not helpful I know)so whichever one you go for, your baby will have a gorgeous name. I think that there are more Romilys than Heras, if that makes a difference to your decision

Prinpo · 14/06/2010 12:31

Hera goes beautifully with your other names. Hera Romilly?

Great set of names, btw. Hope the baby comes soon...

Jamieandhismagictorch · 13/06/2010 18:38

Prefer Romy

And I prefer Juno to Hera

qumquat · 13/06/2010 11:15

Hera - the queen of the Gods! I also really like Hero but DH has vetoed.

MrsSeanBean · 12/06/2010 20:38

Both lovely, but I especially like Hera (Especially with your other DCs' names.)

RnB · 12/06/2010 19:50

It's really lovely, yes - and really suits a girl from babyhood all the way through to adulthood. We think it sounds better in full, too.

Pixie - we have a Romilly (think I've told you before) and she's also been called 'Rolly' - by her friend who couldn't pronounce it, either. On the whole, though, we don't shorten it.

Hera's beautiful.

LadyMetroland · 09/06/2010 21:18

inveteratenamechanger · 09/06/2010 19:27

They are both lovely.

deeply · 09/06/2010 19:25

Hera

lidofabiro · 09/06/2010 19:22

Hera

aspiegal · 09/06/2010 16:59

I like Hera better, I think it's lovely

DastardlyandSmugly · 09/06/2010 16:55

Romilly is nice but I like Romy better.

Lauriefairycake · 09/06/2010 16:39

Hera doesn't sound like a real name

Romilly is better

ExitPursuedByABear · 09/06/2010 16:35

Know a Romilly and love the name, don't know a Hera but really love that too. Why not call her Romilly Hera?
