Apologies for name changing but I thought I might be a bit too identifiable.

I'm expecting boy twins in a week, and am really struggling with one of the names. We really like Rory, but just can't decide on the second name. We're in the UK but have an Irish surname (DH is irish), and already have a dd, Orlaith.

All suggestions/ideas gratefully received.

TIA

Owen (or Eoin or Eoghan)

I live in manchester, alot of Liams round here, not really a name I associate well.

Disenchanted3 · 08/06/2010 12:56

Rory and James
Rory and Gus
Rory and Jules.

I wouldn't go for Liam in the UK. I think it is perceived to be quite down market which is ridiculous obviously as it's a form of William, but having read comments on here, I would not use it in the UK. To be honest.

Disenchanted3 · 08/06/2010 12:55

Rory and Alister?
Rory and Murray?

MagalyZz · 08/06/2010 12:54

I like Felix with Rory.

What about Rory and Fergus?

LadyCad · 08/06/2010 12:53

Something of one syllable might be good.

Not sure exactly why.

Disenchanted3 · 08/06/2010 12:51

Rory and Felix?
Rory and Angus?
Rory and Ewan?

dangermousse · 08/06/2010 12:48

Also can't have Callum or Finn (other twins in the family)

I love Diarmuid too, but there is already a Dermot Snr and Jnr in the family, so dh has ruled out Baby Dermot...

I like Tadgh too although friends of friends have twins called Rory and Tadgh

Is Liam a no-no??

Oh well I'm Irish so some of my suggestions might be too Irish?

I love Diarmuid. It's an excellent name!

Rory and Diarmuid
Rory and Tadhg (that works better actually, as a combo)
Rory and Oisin (on the Irish version of the Cheerios ad, the children are called Orla and oisin!)
Rory and Donnacha (too many ways of spelling Donnacha perhaps, I have also seen Donnachada, and it's still pronounced Dunuk)
Rory and Lorcan

My favourites are Diarmuid and Tadhg, but I think Lorcan would work really well in the UK. Rory and Lorcan has a ring to it too.

I love the name Rory.

Toby?
