name suggestions for boy twin 2 needed please

Apologies for name changing but I thought I might be a bit too identifiable.

I'm expecting boy twins in a week, and am really struggling with one of the names. We really like Rory, but just can't decide on the second name. We're in the UK but have an Irish surname (DH is irish), and already have a dd, Orlaith.

All suggestions/ideas gratefully received.

TIA

Rory or Ruari

with Faichra or Finnbharr

BridesheadRegardless · 08/06/2010 16:11

Rory and Huw?

Rory and Ewan?

Rory and Sean?

I like all these combinations. I think one syllable goes well.

MagalyZz · 08/06/2010 15:55

Declan sounds a bit dated to me. Like calling your child Paul or Stephen. I suppose that doesn't really matter though!!

I personally like the name Liam and it doesn't have negative associations at all for me. But there are some other lovely suggestions on here too, so happy choosing!

eatyourveg · 08/06/2010 14:30

Finn and Declan or Brendan and Rory. Absolutely love the name Finn.

dangermousse · 08/06/2010 14:15

Doesn't have to be Irish, I'm kind of thinking Irish-lite, IYKWIM, something which will go with the other names but not lead to a lifetime of spelling issues. Got a v Irish surname so something v trad English might be a bit daft.

Are you particularly looking for Irish names?

clpsmum · 08/06/2010 13:23

i have a friend with boy triplets called Rory. Gregor and Ewan.

Fourleaf · 08/06/2010 13:15

Conan?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/06/2010 13:14

dangermouse - I also had that experience with my second DC

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 08/06/2010 13:11

Rory and Colm
Rory and Cormac
Rory and Dara
Rory and Ardal
Rory and Torin
Rory and Niall
Rory and Donal
Rory and Lorcan
Rory and Tiernan

(Sticking with two syllables as if you've gone with Orlaith and Rory that's presumably what flows best to your ears)

dangermousse · 08/06/2010 13:11

Thanks everyone, really appreciated

I'm putting together a new and improved shortlist to run past DH

With dd we found it so straightforward to pick a name we both liked, I feel that the right name this time round should just 'stand out', and so far I just can't decide. (Wish DH had stronger views on this!)

Thanks MagalyZz, that was the conclusion I had come to, but wanted to test my thinking. Rejected Conor for popularity reasons too.

Had Fergus on my reserve list, w James as poss middle name. Not too OTT to be shouting across soft play?

rory and conall
rory and caolin
rory and conor
