I neither dislike/like these names but a friend of mine is considering all of these for her son due next month. Why do so many people hate these names, she asked my opinion but I said I wasn't sure, but had got the impression from mumsnet in the past that these names should be avoided??

I really like Jayden and Cayden!! I don't like Hayden im not sure why but..
Tbh I'd use Cayden as Caden and for a girl. The troublemaker thing can be changed after all (albeit slowly!). I completely don't understand the "bloodyfuckingawful" attitude, but oh well, the world would be boring if everyone thought the same

Jaydon't Haydon't Caydon't

They are just so ugly.

I know a Cayden. Lovely boy. I quite like the names too, but I'd use them for a girl.

TotallyWipedout · 05/06/2010 21:35

Because they are horrendous.

They also mark a child out as a potential trouble maker. Yes, I know they shouldn't, and people should be judged by who they are, not what they're called - but people do pre-judge by names, and they will make unfortunate assumptions about a Jaydon/Haydon/Cayden. Sad but true.
