Eden for a boy.

I know both a girl and a boy with this name, and I think it's great on both of them, and it reminds me of James Dean in East of Eden. In context, I think it really suits guys, however, I know on paper it seems quite feminine, which is why I wanted to canvas opinions. What do you think?

I went to Uni with a lovely male Eden - I thought the name was great but he said he always felt that it was girly and he was generally known as Eddie.

I was expecting most people to say it's a girl's name, so it's nice to get positive responses! It's up there with Atticus at the moment as my top name. I was thinking Stanley would go really well with it (can't resist the Tennessee Williams reference). I'm also considering Arthur Edmund and Somerset as additional MNs (you cannot fight me on length - I will win).

I really love this name but I have always thought of it as a girl's name, sorry.

Sounds masculine to me, so I think it is fine for a boy.

But the thing is, when you meet a guy who's actually called Eden, it seems to make perfect sense. It's weird. I would have said the same if I hadn't met one in real life.

friend's ds is Edan.

Lovely name. There are 3 Edens (all boys) in DDs reception class.
