Orson (As in Welles)
Otto
Ambrose
Edmund
Arthur
Somerset (Probably as a MN)
Atlas (Greek god, not a map)

And, I'm just going to throw this out there...Judas as a middle name. Clear your mind of the betrayal connotation and it's actually quite nice. Too cruel?

Otto and Edmund are the only two I'd use. Otto is my favourite.

Atlas. Well I kind of like it but I think you have to be tall and strong and capable !!

Judas - NO WAY

Arthur, very trendy, nothing wrong with it I just don't like it.

Somerset - no. I like Summer for a girl though.

Ambrose is horrible, sorry.

meadowlarks · 04/06/2010 18:25

I probably should mention at this point that I like multiple middle names. So please suggest combos of two or more MNs from the list if you like. Choice number one is Atticus Louis Caleb Tobias Somerset, just to give you an idea of my taste

I think I'll have to scrap Judas if this is the response

Actually Ambrose Somerset is growing on me. I think it could work.

mathanxiety · 04/06/2010 18:15

I like Ambrose, Edmund and Otto. Somerset is a nice mn.

You could use Jude or Jonas, but really I think Judas would be a lot to saddle a child with.

ticktockclock · 04/06/2010 18:13

Orson - No
Otto - Yes
Ambrose - Yes (but could be a bit feminine)
Edmund - No
Arthur - No
Somerset- Yes (provided you don't live in the area)
Atlas - (the jury is out)
Judas - I do like but would cause problems

LetThereBeRock · 04/06/2010 18:12

You can't use Judas.

I love Ambrose, really love it. Edmund and Otto are ok but I don't like the others.

minipie · 04/06/2010 18:10

How about Jude?

I like Somerset too (as mn)

Of your others, I'd go for Edmund or Arthur. Edmund Somerset sounds good.

Psammead · 04/06/2010 18:04

Wouldn't use Judas. You are right, it's nice - but no-one will be able to clear their mind.

I like Somerset as a mn. I think it's too much with Ambrose though - would go with Orson, Edmund or Arthur.

From those, I'd probably settle on Arthur Somerset. Be careful about your surname though, you don't want as ASS for a son!
