Would this be incredibly cheesy? I'm thinking it would.

We have 3 children, we named them completely oblivious to this, but they now the first letter of their names (ikn age order too) spells the first 3 letters of my husbands name.

I only noticed when I told DH that if I ever had another daughter I wanted to call her 'xxx'

I was sat doodling and wrote their names out with the last one too and saw it speeled DHs name (are you following? )

I really love the fourth name but now am thinking I need to avoid that first letter at all cost as its very cheesy to have DHs name spelled out of the kids!

But I didn't notice for 5 years so I don't think anyone else will.

Dh like the idea

Really nice to have meaning to their names.

Not cheesy -as they grow up they all have nice individual names and identities. (Its not like Jamie Oliver with all floral names which are obviously linked as they grow up and talk about their sisters).

Nobody would make the link unless they choose to point it out. Its a good story for them to tell at parties.

Go for it.

LaRagazzaInglese · 05/06/2010 11:30

I think it's nice, especially because you didn't do it deliberately. Most people won't notice, it'll be a cute little family thing. I once knew brothers whose names began with A, B, C, and D, in age order! hehe

isitnearlywineoclock · 04/06/2010 22:56

My three are A, B and C - unintentionally! I think it's a sweet idea - go for it.

Yummaymummay · 04/06/2010 22:38

At my school there were 3 sisters, all very naughty
called Helena, Lettice and Lucy, known by the staff as Hell Let Loose

Disenchanted3 · 04/06/2010 21:01

I think its a lovely idea, something really personal to your family, I would go for it, but like someone said, it could be my hormones, I think Simon Cowell is sweet at the mo

princessmel · 04/06/2010 20:19

It's fine and sweet

KAEKAE · 04/06/2010 20:09

Go for it!

largeginandtonic · 04/06/2010 19:17

No one will notice. It's sweet

Jamieandhismagictorch · 04/06/2010 19:14

I think it's a nice idea

AbFabT · 04/06/2010 19:10

Oh, and I married a 'C', and my mum considers him her son, so she now does have an alphabet set of children. My brothers are both single right now, we need new girlfriends for them whose names begin with E and F.

AbFabT · 04/06/2010 19:08

I love it!

My mum's name begins with C. My brothers and I are A, B and D! It wasn't intentional (and the order is actually A, D, B), but we sort of spell out A, B, C and D.

Disenchanted3 · 04/06/2010 16:57

Lo @bad boys.

DS1s initials are

ARS

Greenshadow · 04/06/2010 15:58

Unfortunately we didn't notice with ours until too late.
Our 3 boys have the initials B. A and D in that order and so unfortunately are sometimes known as the BAD boys....

TrillianAstra · 04/06/2010 15:54

Do it!

It's ridiculous but I think you need to have a prize for the first real-life person to notice.

lidofabiro · 04/06/2010 15:50

I don't think anyone would notice, but if you'd rather avoid it then why not use the name you like as a middle name?

My partner and I were going to name DD2 Mirren which with all our initials would have spelt G.L.A.M, I thought this was cute, not cheesy. We decided against Mirren but tried D names. Again nothing we were overly fond of.

So I say go for it, it's really cute and if DH likes it then it's a nice tribute.

Disenchanted3 · 04/06/2010 10:40

Lol, suppose not

I dont think it is cheesy at all. In fact it's actually quite sweet

waitingforbedtime · 04/06/2010 10:30

How weird that his name is Adam!

LostArtofKeepingASecret · 04/06/2010 10:28

I doubt if anyone would notice. Also, you could sign your christmas cards in a delightful crossword style.

Lancelottie · 04/06/2010 10:26

Just don't set a trend, will you (my DH has an 11-letter name... ouch)
