I know that not everyone thought about this when they were a child but if you did what names did you love then, and did you use them?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I was going to have two daughters - Charlotte Patricia, to be known as Lottie, and possibly Venetia Elen after my favourite Georgette Heyer heroine and my sister's middle name.

Had a ds!

BuzzingNoise · 03/06/2010 23:06

I wanted an Abraham and Zachariah.

mamaduckbone · 03/06/2010 23:02

Sally as a young child, then Chloe when older. Never thought about boys' names, and had 2 boys, so didn't get the opportunity to decide whether to use them! I still quite like both though actually.

My twins were going be called Daniel and Danielle

I think it was round the time I had a crush on The Karate Kid

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/06/2010 22:43

From a diary in 1978:

Patsy Alice
Joshua Harvey
Piers Henry
Theodore James
Portia Scarlett

I was ahead of my time, no? And I didn't use any of them...

chipmonkey · 03/06/2010 22:37

Celine and David ( Girl I hero worshipped in school, 2 years older than me was called Celine)

Later Heather or Abigail ( holly hobby dolls anyone?)

Later again twins called Faith and Hope

Later again Angela and Nigel

Have 4 boys now and didn't use either of the boys names!

ChynaDoll2006 · 03/06/2010 22:34

I wanted twin girls

Liberty and Britannia

and a boy

Vinny-Kingston

That's just embarassing.

OiMcDuff · 03/06/2010 22:13

Doozie - too much time spent watching 'Dynasty'?!

Doozie · 03/06/2010 21:44

Oh and when I was very young I thought the name Crystal was extremely beautiful and sophisticated....

Doozie · 03/06/2010 21:39

I was going to have a succession of boy/girl twins with matching names - 8 kids in all!

Alexander and Alexandra
Harry and Harriet
William and Willimena
Thomas and Thomasina

But even as a child I thought it was highly unlikely so instead bestowed those names on the runner beans I was growing from seed. Which was great as I added many more matching name pairs to my 'bean plant babies'....

flibbertigibbert · 03/06/2010 21:20

I wanted two girls - Indie-Mo Mackenzie and Destiny Mae.

God knows what I was thinking

Jux · 03/06/2010 21:18

Didn't want kids, but none of hte elderly relatives (ie my mum's age) believed me so I chose Scrofula and Embolism.

dinobird · 03/06/2010 21:10

At about 11 I wanted to call my girl Seven, after a girl in a book. I really like the name Jareth (the goblin king from Labyrinth)but my OH says it's rather wussy, (he doesn't, but what he does say isn't exactly very PC lol. He likes lots of name from Playstation3 games, but they're all a bit pretentious or weird, like Sephiroth and Cloud!

OiMcDuff · 03/06/2010 20:40

My favourite girl's name when I was 5/6 years old was Lilla...never told anyone until I was pregnant & only told my husband. Had a boy first time round so didn't get to use it, but my 2nd was a girl & DD is called Lilla

amrg · 03/06/2010 19:50

I wanted a Sophia and got one. Added an Alban eight months ago - would never have picked that as a kid!

LilRedWG · 03/06/2010 18:04

I wanted twin girls, called Siobhan and Samantha.

BootyMum · 03/06/2010 18:03

I remember being about 10 and thinking Karen was a cool name...

MPuppykin · 03/06/2010 18:02

Sage, Paisley and Ezekiel.

I still like Ezekiel. DH is not having it.

crumpet · 03/06/2010 18:00

Catriona (but, importantly, not spelled Katrina)

brennannbooth · 03/06/2010 17:58

Anna and Hazel and Thomas. Still love all those names but Anna doesn't work with our surname and Hazel doesn't "go" with other DC's names now and DH isn't keen on Thomas and DB and SIL have dibs on it anyway.

robie · 03/06/2010 17:55

I liked the names Trixibelle Victoria Cassandra Scarlet and Laetitia when I was 10.
Thankfully I didn't have DD's til my 30's

kimbles1984 · 03/06/2010 17:38
