I like both these boy's names.

What do people think? Are either of them more popular than the other?

I love Owen. It's a variant of the Irish name Eoin too (pronounced the same).

Evan is too close to the Evie trend juggernaut for me.

Nope no Welsh connections - I didn't even realise they were welsh!!

I am Australian but of Scottish heritage.

I like both but prefer Evan.

Do you have any Welsh connections, or do you just like the names? (It's a free country, you don't have to be Welsh, just curious.)

Thanks! I probably prefer Evan although I think my husband prefers Owen. I had never considered either until someone mentioned Owen and then I was watching tv and saw the name Evan mentioned.

I think both are lovely and underused.

Last name starts with "S" so both work well with that.

I have an Evan, and know an Owen.

Both are lovely names.

Not sure how you choose really! How do they go with your surname? Are the initials OK?

I like both, prefer Evan.

My DS has one of each in his class at school - he's in reception.
I teach at a secondary school and have come across a few Owen's but never an Evan.

I like them both, but would veer more towards Evan.
