It's a gorgeous name, and it seems to adapt to the way a person is, from regal- "Alexandra" to chic and sassy -"Alex" to cheeky -"Lexie".

It doesn't ever really seem to have caught on or been that hugely popular which I'm glad about. But I was curious to know if people liked it.

When I was at school, I was one of only two Alexandra's in a huge school with around 800 kids. So there weren't that many. Now I don't come across many Alexandra's my own age either.

Everyone reacts to it positively and say it sounds regal and beautiful.

Yes I do get called Alex most of the time but I like that. People have reacted positively to that too. A few of my friends used to say they wished they were called Alex as it's a cool name for a girl.

Yes I like it a lot. It does get suggested on these threads from time to time, but as you say I haven't seen a whole discussion about it.

I like it. I know a few (tho about my age - mid 20s) and they get a variety of nick names. Lexie, andi, alex and alexa...none go by full nane.
