Hi all just had my 20 week scan and we have been told its a girl! What do you think of Erin with Paige as a middle name?

Haha, BoldChislersMummy - I fancied calling dd2 Erin, but Irish dh said no, for the soup reason!

Erin Paige sounds a bit like Elaine Page to me!

The DH came up with Erin Paige and I agree with the majority here I like Erin and the Irish connection is nice as my grandad was from County Cork but I never knew him. Paige I am a bit iffy about. I like Natalie but dont know if I should save it just in case we have another girl!

Erin is a great name. Anglicised romantic name for Ireland - see here for history Overused in America and Australia though.

Far more interesting as a boy's name

Don't much like Paige though. Or Piper (just in case you were taking inspiration from Charmed)

very american. I know it's supposed to be irish but to the irish it'll always be packet soup.

Erin is lovely, I quite like Paige too but would probably go for something a bit more adventurous as a middle name as Erin is short n sweet.

I think you can go overboard with it, but agree it's not the worst sin you could commit, name-wise . An Italian name would have sounded a lot nicer with the particular Italian surname, I thought. And the DD whose name was Erin looked very Italian too...

I am in Ireland. My dd2 has a friend called Erin who is South African. They are 13, I think Erin would be the coolest girl in the year!

What Swanandduck said. It's very Irish American to my ears. There was an Erin in DD1's class whose surname was very Italian -- I think her mum was making a point of some kind about the DD's ancestry.
