Hi all just had my 20 week scan and we have been told its a girl! What do you think of Erin with Paige as a middle name?

Haha, BoldChislersMummy - I fancied calling dd2 Erin, but Irish dh said no, for the soup reason!

LittleDonkin · 23/05/2010 16:28

The Elaine Page thing sprung to my mind too!! I must have words with DH!!

Erin Paige sounds a bit like Elaine Page to me!

Not keen on the Paige part, sorry.

Hedwig3 · 20/05/2010 12:35

I love the simplicity of Erin.

Not at all keen on Paige though I'm afraid.

Greetings from Co. Cork!

minipie · 19/05/2010 16:07

I really like Erin.

Don't like Paige, sorry.

highlystrung · 19/05/2010 16:00

Really don't like it- had an ugly sound to it. Don't know why.

LittleDonkin · 19/05/2010 10:06

The DH came up with Erin Paige and I agree with the majority here I like Erin and the Irish connection is nice as my grandad was from County Cork but I never knew him. Paige I am a bit iffy about. I like Natalie but dont know if I should save it just in case we have another girl!

Erin is a great name. Anglicised romantic name for Ireland - see here for history Overused in America and Australia though.

Far more interesting as a boy's name

Don't much like Paige though. Or Piper (just in case you were taking inspiration from Charmed)

nowherewoman · 19/05/2010 08:38

Used to love it, but I've gone off it recently.

Bonsoir · 19/05/2010 08:34

I hate Erin - such a boring name.

EliCham · 19/05/2010 08:33

Sounds cool

BoldChislersMummy · 18/05/2010 21:44

very american. I know it's supposed to be irish but to the irish it'll always be packet soup.

mamatomany · 18/05/2010 16:38

Erin is lovely, I quite like Paige too but would probably go for something a bit more adventurous as a middle name as Erin is short n sweet.

LittleMissNorty · 18/05/2010 16:36

Love it. Was going to have this as DD2's name.....except it was a DS

Congratulations!

mathanxiety · 18/05/2010 16:34

I think you can go overboard with it, but agree it's not the worst sin you could commit, name-wise . An Italian name would have sounded a lot nicer with the particular Italian surname, I thought. And the DD whose name was Erin looked very Italian too...

stleger · 18/05/2010 16:03

I am in Ireland. My dd2 has a friend called Erin who is South African. They are 13, I think Erin would be the coolest girl in the year!

bluecheesefiend · 18/05/2010 15:55

I like both and they sound lovely together - very romantic I think.

bluebump · 18/05/2010 15:50

I love Erin.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/05/2010 15:49

Is it wrong to make a point about ancestry? With all due respect, math

mathanxiety · 18/05/2010 15:45

What Swanandduck said. It's very Irish American to my ears. There was an Erin in DD1's class whose surname was very Italian -- I think her mum was making a point of some kind about the DD's ancestry.

JosephineClaire · 18/05/2010 15:41

Erin is a gorgeous name

swanandduck · 18/05/2010 14:59

I don't really like either. Sorry. Erin just sounds makey uppey Irishy to me.

twolittlemonkeys · 18/05/2010 14:38

Erin I like. Paige I don't
