Looking for an under used pretty girls name?

Just as the title says really.
We've chosen Patrick with everyone on heres help, think its a lovely underused traditional name.
Now we are trying to find the equivalent for a girl.

But.... needs to go with ds's Alfie and Archie and a surname of one syllable beginning with C (so unfortunately Rose is out). I would also like something that is adaptable, so you can have a cute name (maybe nn) or a serious name when older.

I don't want much I know

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks Sapell, not heard of that one and very pretty, will run that past him in doors.

I suppose there was only one of each name . That does put me off slightly.

once again with regional variations thesecondcoming it might NOT be

alfiemama - Evelyn seems the perfect compromise then

sapell3 · 15/05/2010 21:48

Evelyn is lovely
am partial to Evangeline too

alfiemama · 15/05/2010 21:41

Ooh that sounds nice choosyfloosy.
It is a pretty name and maybe thats why I can't find another name we like. My brother kind of pinched ours as we always had Evie Rose in mind (talking 3 years ago now) and he called his lo Ava Rose, so my concern was very similar, but the Evelyn would get passed this awkwardness.

Dizzydixies, we are in the North.

I must say that Evie is a beautiful name. There's unlikely to be more than say 1 more in the class, maybe not even that, and would that be so terrible? Evelyn is also an unusual origin for it, and very under used. Evelyn Rosemary is a name to dream about IMO.

Jetbaby · 15/05/2010 21:20

Roseanna
Daisy
Elise ??

dizzydixies · 15/05/2010 21:17

alfiemama - once again depends where you are - I only know of one Evie up here however you could trip over Caitlyn/Isla/Sophie up here

please, if you love a name use it regardless of how many you think there will be

alfiemama · 15/05/2010 21:15

Oh forgot Tabitha on the list.
Unfortunately madly hubby doesn't like names that are too outside of the box. I like Leonora by the way.

He's obsessed with Evie, but I keep telling him everyone is calling there lo Evie at the moment.

Also met a Dulcie the other day which I thought was sweet and unusual

dizzydixies · 15/05/2010 20:58

Cassia?

Wanderingsheep · 15/05/2010 20:56

Alice? Not sure whether you would want 3 As though?

I love Charlotte with Lottie as a nickname but it seems quite popular.

Greensleeves · 15/05/2010 20:54

Keziah

means cinnamon flower

choosyfloosy · 15/05/2010 20:53

Rosemary is lovely. Although I'm also more of a Rosanna fancier.

I think the only possible problem with Evelyn is that IMO she will be Evie to a lot of people and there are SO many Evies just at the mo (still great name though).

Clover gets a lot of mentions on this thread but have never yet come across one so maybe not overused.

Ilaria
Corinna
