We have a thread for girls names so why not one for boys?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
brogan2 · 10/05/2010 21:23

You see Fabhead, my DS is James and any future DS would be either William, Edward or Thomas.
Horses for courses!

usualsuspect · 10/05/2010 21:23

Yes Brogan wasn't being deliberately rude

brogan2 · 10/05/2010 21:21

US, did you cross posts with me there!

fabhead · 10/05/2010 21:20

I find the standard traditional boys names beyond dull - William, James, David (sorry Db!), Thomas, etc

brogan2 · 10/05/2010 21:20

Yes, Kai/Cai is my boys equivalent of Lucy. Irrational of course but I really don't like it.

usualsuspect · 10/05/2010 21:20

same as girls thread..all old mens names but especially Arthur and Stanley

brogan2 · 10/05/2010 21:19

Wow! I find myself agreeing with almost everything on here already.

Though, I don't mind the old man type names such as Stanley, Arthur or John. Stan, Art and Johnny all quite cool NNs too.

CaptainUnderpants · 10/05/2010 21:17

Serkan and Ali.

DH is turkish and is desperate for a traditional name... and these two offerings suck giant balls.

gingerbaby · 10/05/2010 19:37

Glad DS' hasn't come up yet...

BuzzingNoise · 10/05/2010 18:21

I really dislike Oscar and Noah. They are far too popular to be considered quirky now, and I just think they are ugly names.

old man names - George /Henry/Stanley etc.

piscesmoon · 10/05/2010 17:51

Similar to the girls list
Anything from early 20th century-Stanley, Wilfred, Albert
Surnames-Taylor, Bailey etc
Anything obviously American
Anything made up
Anything with an 'original' spelling.

GladioliBuckets · 10/05/2010 17:47

Anything beginning with O. I'm Olivia and 25yrs ago not even English teachers could read it out properly, spent years being called Oliver, Olivier etc. Now all O names make me cringe, esp Ollie which NOBODY calls me twice now.

jellybeans · 10/05/2010 17:46

boring middle aged names.. John, Simon

names with 'um' in or 'ham' (Graham, Liam)
