Hi,
can you tell me what you think of these names?
Family history suggests baby's name starts with D but I have two little suggestions of my own...

Boys Girls

Alex Daisy

Dale Danielle

Daniel Darcy

Dean Deanna

Dominic Demi

Drew Xanthe

Duncan

Many apologies that this is another thread but my previous one didn't have the girls names on!!

I like Dominic and Daniel but don't like any of the girls' names tbh

cloelia · 11/05/2010 19:15

I like Daisy, and from other people's suggestions, Diana, Dora, Daryl (very Enid Blyton) or how about Dorothy? or I knew a Doone once.

Magaly · 10/05/2010 21:43

I like Daryl for a girl actually.

I don't like Danielle (well, not on a baby). Dakota is silly on a UK child. Makes me think there should be a brother called Dingo. NO! don't put Dingo on your list.

Ivykaty44 · 10/05/2010 20:12

dylan is popular atm
Derium

mumbar · 10/05/2010 20:09

I'm with Dominic and like Daniella and Daisy for girls. Declan ok for a boy too.

yummymummie1 · 10/05/2010 20:04

boys- dylan?

Grils- daniella,delila,dakota?

im stuck lol ha ha

beccas · 10/05/2010 19:13

Boys name seems easier, there are lots of nice ones on your list. I like your girls less so, except Darcy which I think is fab.
My sisters preferred name for next baby (not even preggers yet!!) is Dolores ! Shortened to Dolly or Dotty or Lorrie etc...
reckon that name is like marmite...

HinnyPet · 10/05/2010 17:53

Ooh I like Della! Is that short for anything?
I like the tradition

Dervla
Doireann

BridesheadRegardless · 10/05/2010 14:34

How about Dilys?
We considered this for a girl.

Magaly · 10/05/2010 13:41

move on to E.

Enoch or Edith.

The next generation could do F

I love Diarmuid too.

Dympna is a rosary bead clacker's name!

Magaly · 10/05/2010 13:31

Donald or Dominic for a boy. Really love both of those. I also like Duncan. Lots of great D names for boys!

For girls it's trickier but i do really like

Delia
Dulcie

diddl · 10/05/2010 13:12

Can only think of Della, Dominique & Dorcas!

SpiderWilliam · 10/05/2010 13:01

There was a little girl called Dymphna (not sure if that is the correct spelling) at my school. Gorgeous Irish name. When I suggested it to my DH he choked laughing

DumpyOldWoman · 10/05/2010 12:27

It's a tradition, not a law.

Don't discuss it with the GPs, just pick a name you really like, whatever it starts with.

Go as far as a D middle name if you really want.

But unless there us a D name you want, don't be hel over a barrel.

BallpointPen · 10/05/2010 12:20

Daniel or Alex or maybe Dominic.

Don't like any of the girls.

Eglu · 10/05/2010 12:19

Daniel is so overused.

I like Daisy from your list and Delilah from other suggertions. Also adore Xanthe.

For boys not keen on any of those. Drew is the best though.

LouMacca · 10/05/2010 12:17

Agree with diddl. Only like Daniel from that list!

CakeandRoses · 10/05/2010 11:35

Are you cool with having to stick to a D name then or would you prefer not to? [noisy old bad smiley]

I only like Dominic and Xanthe. Like Donovan and Declan from other posts.

diddl · 10/05/2010 09:11

Time to change the tradition!

Only like Daniel & none of the girls names.

How about

Drusilla
Dinah
Dionne
Dora
Dagmar
Dahlia
Desiree
Darina
Daria

muminthemiddle · 09/05/2010 22:40

I also like Darcy and Dominic best.
