Dont do Psyche. She will be called Fish at school.

CoteDAzur · 09/05/2010 13:48

Psyche as a name?

suspiria · 08/05/2010 21:14

Juno is so pretty.I like Lorelei too.How about Circe,Isis,Psyche,Iolanthe

CheerfulYank · 08/05/2010 19:52

I really like Lorelai. Mimosa is a drink to me so that's out. Callie is ok, not sure about Calla.

kittyonthebeam · 08/05/2010 19:48

Tienette

pronounced like Henriette but with a T (hope that makes sense)

Genevieve

Thalia

Evangeline

tweedledumdum · 08/05/2010 10:41

Posy- the 'eu' in Eulalie would be pn the same as the 'eu' in Eugenie

Eugenie is a pretty name too.

There is a Tia in DD's class at school.

noddyholder · 08/05/2010 09:56

All too fiddly sounding

SilverSky · 08/05/2010 09:55

Isnt Mimosa a cocktail?

I quite like Eualalie!

PosyPetrovaPauline · 08/05/2010 00:10

o thought it was more
'u' than 'eww' - like Eugenia?

nooka · 07/05/2010 23:48

I don't like any of them (and I have a very unusual name which I like very much) because they all sound well a bit silly. For me Eulalie is probably the worst - too sing song, and I don't think that the "eu" sound is a good one - who wants their name to start with a "eweugh". Cerelia is fairly unattractive too.

Tortington · 07/05/2010 21:56

they are all really horrible though.

eulalie sounds like ukalele

hope you live in poshville - or hippyville, cos your kid mightfind it hard at school.

minosa isnt that a cocktail?

minerva sounds like the pill

tweedledumdum · 07/05/2010 21:53

Thank you Posy. I think you are right- most people don't like names that they are not familiar with and mnetters tend to be quite harsh in their comments. I'm not offended at all though!

Eulalie is my favourite too- I think it is so pretty

OP posts:
PosyPetrovaPauline · 07/05/2010 21:29

harsh comments

some of them are beautiful - just not common - people soon learn to love different names

Eulalie is absolutely beautiful

piscesmoon · 07/05/2010 19:18

I don't like any of them! When there are so many lovely 'usual' names why go for weird 'unusual' ones?

tweedledumdum · 07/05/2010 19:10

Thank you for the feedback- v interesting.

I was wondering where your school was too eatyourveg!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 07/05/2010 14:54

Love Callia, Ginevra, and (especiallly) JUNO

cumbria81 · 07/05/2010 14:17

Dear God. You cannot seriously lumber your poor child with any of these names!

Think rationally woman!

Would you like to introduce yourself if you had any of those names?

She will forever be spelling it out and speaking slowly.

PollyTicks · 07/05/2010 14:15

All absolutely ghastly

shumway · 07/05/2010 11:05

Mimosa is what Americans call bucks fizz I think

Acanthus · 07/05/2010 11:01

Blimey, eatyourveg, what sort of area is that school in?

BettyisNOTBlu · 07/05/2010 00:15

Juno is hugely on the up, so if that matters to you (and judging by the rest of your list it does) might be worth bearing in mind.

I really like Minerva and Ginevra

PaulinePetrovaPosy · 07/05/2010 00:10

Talitha

Fimbo · 06/05/2010 22:25

None of them

tweedledumdum · 06/05/2010 22:22

Still open to suggestions, eat your veg!
