Flower, plant or tree names for boys?

Our DD has Rowan as her middle name - it has various meanings for us, and we like that it's a 'nature' name.

Not even pregnant yet - not even trying - but next time round if we did have a boy, I would like him to have a nature name too, as his middle name.

Any ideas? I thought of Bay and Heath so far...

Wren is mostly a girls' name in the US. There's a newspaper cartoon where the children are Zoe, Ham and Wren.

GladioliBuckets - yes, I see what you mean, although we don't actually live in the UK so I can't see it would be a problem.

Somehow it still doesn't really strike me as female. I don't think the WRNS are the first think I think of when I hear the name. Good point though!

I like Sunny too but too many people assume it's Sonny - which I hate!

I don't think of Wren as particularly feminine - esp as there is a male precedent in Ren (as in, And Stimpy)

Craig and Ben are nature names too, meaning cliff/crag and mountain, obviously.

Laurel def seems like a girl's name to me.

Am v v keen on Larkin - it means little lark - but have had SUCH a mixed response as to whther it sounds like a girl's name!

If I were to have another child, a boy and it was up to me (partner not convinced) Rayne is the name, Ray for when he is older.
I also Like Sunni or Sunny or Sunnie.

Wren is nice, but I like longer names...
My boy is Sky but his full name is Skyler/Schuyler.

That's interesting - I never thought of Wren as being particularly masculine or feminine. To be it's quite neutral.

TBH, it doesn't have to be a very masculine name. My DD has a very girly first name, and Rowan as her middle name, which I find balances the first name out somewhat. So this theoretical boy would probably have quite a 'manly' first name, and a softer middle name. We'll see!

Anyone else have any opinions on Wren?

Celyn is Welsh for holly and is commonly used as a boys' name.

Love Thyme! Wren is nice, a bird name though - but we could always change the tradition as it's not really a tradition yet!

I'm getting more and more into Oleander. Might even make the first name list!

Yay! It's a proper name and everything. Very handsome. Just a bit of a change from Oliver or Alexander. It's a shrub I believe.

Nice to know there are some possibilities.

Plantagenet is magnificent! I don't think I'd be brave enough though!
