I love Thea and Edie and think they go with you surname. (Thea is one of my faves for Dd3 due soon)

Also like Seth and think I prefer Jonah to Jonas.

Biscuitbreaker · 06/05/2010 21:37

For some reason I love Elsa, but not keen on Elsie. Not sure why!

Like Jonah.

Someone mentioned a pornstar connection for Jonas??? Have I missed something?

Clara - lovely
don't really like the boy choices but that's just me

alfiemama · 05/05/2010 18:43

How about Elsie for a girl?
Prefer Jonah to Jonas, how about Elijah?

Biscuitbreaker · 05/05/2010 18:31

Oceryo - pretty much exactly that!

Not too popular that I would hear them everywhere, short to balance the long-ish surname... and I am a vintage fiend so it makes sense for me to pick older names!

Can you say why you like the first names you suggested? Things like old fashioned but not unheard of, four or five letters long, that sort of thing?

Thanks for the suggestions - especially boy name ones... nothing is quite grabbing me, but I can't put my finger on why!

Doozie · 05/05/2010 14:24

Sorry forget Leah, it is too much with Littlewoods! Actually a lot my suggestions don't sit very well with your surname. I think Clara goes best from your list.

Doozie · 05/05/2010 14:22

Of your girls names, I especially like (in order of preference):

Thea
Clara
Elsa

Along the same theme.. how about Tessa, Mattea, Flora, Alice, Anna, Celia, Leah, Sophia, Emma?

Sorry, I think we have different taste in boys names!

GuntherMcKilocodie · 05/05/2010 14:22

Clara for a girl, either for a boy. Cool but classy, I like your style. (p.s. how about Tess for a girl?)

Biscuitbreaker · 05/05/2010 13:11

I had to google him... I like his 'tache

flopsy1974 · 05/05/2010 12:57

Love Edie for a girl.
Like Jonas, but not Seth. Would be constantly thinking of Seth Armstrong.

oceryo · 05/05/2010 12:42

Elsa Littlewoods - quite like, but too many l and s sounds with your surname?
Clara Littlewoods - very nice name
Thea Littlewoods - OK
Marla Littlewoods - the l sounds are a bit close together
Edie Littlewoods - quite like

Boy:
Seth Littlewoods - I like the name Seth but with your surname it has several s and th sounds, a bit awkward to say
Jonas Littlewoods - not keen

diddl · 05/05/2010 12:01

Don´t like Marla or Edie.
Like both boys names.

CuppaTeaJanice · 05/05/2010 11:53

I'd avoid anything with an L in it - becomes a mouthful with the surname.

I like Seth for a boy. Jonas is a bit porn star/Jonas brothers.

Edie is the best girls name, but if you know loads, what about Erin, Eden, Effie (nn for Josephine or Elizabeth).

hattyyellow · 05/05/2010 11:18

Love Elsa and Clara (I really wanted Clara for one of my girls but got vetoed by DH). Don't like Marla or Edie at all.

Not hugely keen on boys names. Other suggestions along those lines - Jonah, Ely, Isaac, Abel, Joseph.

I like Sidney for a boy, but am just imagining our parents' faces...

OP posts:
thirtysomething · 05/05/2010 10:27

Like Thea and Edie and Seth best.

What about Alex? Sebastian? Ethan?

Biscuitbreaker · 05/05/2010 10:19

Janeite I like Barnaby but with my last name being so long, I was thinking shorter would be better...

Edie is my fave - it's a family name, but people close to me have used it, so it may be off the table!

OP posts:
DuelingFanjo · 03/05/2010 19:37

Only like Edie
