I liked Skye but for me its chavvy round by us and I was going to call our dog it but when the pup arrived it didnt suit.

Fluffyvacuity · 06/05/2010 23:14

irony of the above from a poster called 'lelarose'....

lelarose · 06/05/2010 19:54

Love Delilah- Delilah Skye does sound great. It's a great name I'd love to use but my cousin already has a Delilah. Go for it, whichever way round you like and who gives a s**t about "normal"!!

seeker · 04/05/2010 10:21

Tell him not to be silly. If he wants somebody in his life called Skye tell him to change his own name.

Fluffyvacuity · 03/05/2010 19:59

Hullygully · 03/05/2010 19:58
SpringHeeledJack · 03/05/2010 19:54

oi, Pash, I have a Delilah

Fluffyvacuity · 03/05/2010 19:51

APassionateWoman - vaire vaire funny

APassionateWoman · 03/05/2010 19:21

It's a bit ghetto, sorry. I know we're not allowed to use the 'c' word, but come on, Skye-Delilah. It's a 'Shameless' name.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 03/05/2010 16:56

How about Skyla?

hobbgoblin · 03/05/2010 11:22

The only Skye I know has a brother named Stax and sister named Roxanne

Fluffy, I get your point too but only really in reference to really 'out there' names.

Fluffyvacuity · 03/05/2010 11:10

Goblin - it was just names from my friends and as all born in the 70s yes probably very flaretastic

I don' wear beige but i get your point. However, I also feel very sorry for the children who get landed with such (imho) stupid names. I am obviously in the minority so I will leave you all to get on with it

Oh and i think skye was a character on Neighbours in the 1980s?

usualsuspect · 03/05/2010 11:01

I like Delilah Skye

hobbgoblin · 03/05/2010 10:57

Fluffy that is a quite boring list and rather 70s don't you think?

People who like wearing beige always think cerise is loud and naff.

Fluffyvacuity · 03/05/2010 10:53

what about Sarah, Jane, Milly, Suzanne, Claire, Isabelle, Smanthan, Jessica, Lisa, errr something normal ??

Runs and hides quickly.

Seriously though it will date quickly and is I'm sorry but imho totally naff.

hobbgoblin · 03/05/2010 10:46

Oh so what about what the Bible says. No men were tarts were they. Misogynistic crap.

I love Delilah and it would have been the name of one of mine.

ShowOfHands · 03/05/2010 10:41

What zozzle is trying to say is that Delilah was a biblical whore.

But then lots of names mean lots of things and it's fairly easy to diassociate them.

Search the archives. There's been several threads on Delilah, erm here for example. As I said in that thread, my brother gets a lot of faces when they hear his dd's name. It is the biblical reference that does it unfortunately.

mothertrucker · 03/05/2010 10:40

Skye, Skye, Skye Delilah

Remind you of a famous song

mopsyflopsy · 03/05/2010 10:38

I know a lovely Skye, so like the name a lot.

Not keen on Delilah, sounds a bit outdated to me.

zozzle · 03/05/2010 10:30

In the Bible Delilah was a manipulative woman who brought a good man down - why would you want to name your child after her????

thehillsarealive · 03/05/2010 09:34

pmsl show of hands! that is what I thought too.

I like Skye, not keen on Delilah, you should choose one or the other imho.

tardis · 03/05/2010 09:32

delilah is lovely

ShowOfHands · 03/05/2010 09:30

Problem with Delilah Skye is how close it is to the Isle of Skye.

See my relative Delilah White for similar issues.
