Kermit for a boy?

copperjar · 02/05/2010 19:34

I am watching the muppets at the moment- it was my absolute favourite as a child- and it's got me thinking.

I am nine weeks pregnant at the moment.

What do you think of Kermit for a boy? I doubt it's a top 100 name, and I do want something a little unusual. Good idea, or not?

Gonzo is good too.

Or how about Cookie Monster, Gonzo, Animal, Beaker? This has got to be a joke.

copperjar · 02/05/2010 20:05

I've asked dh what he thinks, and he says that if I still love it by the time the baby's due then we can use it. But he doesn't want us to tell his parents yet.

He has a mighty fine collection of planes, and the museum is beautifully kept. Quite an admirable guy.

minko · 02/05/2010 20:01

He'd need a pretty thick skin with all the frog jokes... as a name it's no worse than the kid in DS's nursery called Hubert really though!

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 02/05/2010 20:01

Kermit's grown on me actually (now wants to change ds's name by deed poll)

Bad idea. A very bad idea. It's awful. I do hope you're winding us up.

mathanxiety · 02/05/2010 19:54

As long as your one-syllable surname isn't Green then I think it's lovely (cos it wouldn't be easy being Kermit Green. I know a baby Grover, and I think it's fabulous (it's apparently an old Dutch family surname-as-name in his case)

Kermit would certainly be unusual, but not way off the map, imo. Link to name

BitOfFun · 02/05/2010 19:54

He's a looker too.

catinthehat2 · 02/05/2010 19:52

OK if you are an AMerican.

Real life Kermit who is a millionaire and owns a fab museum in FLorida

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 02/05/2010 19:52

He'd have people calling him "muppet" though.

BitOfFun · 02/05/2010 19:49

OMG, that would be soooo cute, bibbity

bibbitybobbityhat · 02/05/2010 19:48

Lovely. And he would be Kermeeee (in the Miss Piggy style) for short.

I think its charming. Ignore the naysayers!

TheCrackFox · 02/05/2010 19:46

I am green with envy at your baby's potential name.

BitOfFun · 02/05/2010 19:45

Lovely name, lovely frog. Go for it.

bratnav · 02/05/2010 19:45

Has to be Animal, he is waaaay cooler than Kermit

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 02/05/2010 19:45

How about Herbert? I love it, you could call him Herbie!!

nickschick · 02/05/2010 19:44

Gonzo would be groovy it would 'go' with our surname too ....

copperjar · 02/05/2010 19:43
