Kermit for a boy?

I am watching the muppets at the moment- it was my absolute favourite as a child- and it's got me thinking.

I am nine weeks pregnant at the moment.

What do you think of Kermit for a boy? I doubt it's a top 100 name, and I do want something a little unusual. Good idea, or not?

Did you notice that Kermit Roosevelt's son was called Kermit Roosevelt Jnr, and his son is Kermit Roosevelt Jnr II, a Washington DC attorney. And look, he called his son Kermit Roosevelt III

Here's a Kermit Roosevelt, son of Theodore Roosevelt -- I have a feeling there's more of a Dutch than a Gaelic flavour to the name.

He seems to have come to an unhappy end, but had an interesting life.

You cannot call your DS Kermit. Please say you are joking. It's the name of a frog in a kids' programme! It is NOT OK!

Just googled and there are also several sporting Kermits - a boxer, a basketball player and a soccer player.

kermit obviously has a history before the frog, i think it's supercool

I laughed at first but looking at Kermit Weeks, somehow he gives it gravitas (maybe it's just because it turns out there are humans called Kermit...)

If it wasn't for the associations it wouldn't sound silly at all - it's actually quite noble-sounding.

i found kermit weeks an aviation expert, you could say you named your kermit after him, aw please do it!

Someone used Moon Unit too but it doesn't mean it was a good idea to do so.

If this is real then I have to say your son will never forgive you for it. Don't do it, life is hard enough. There are plenty of names to pick from, there is no reason to land a child with the frog's name.

It's not all that unpopular in the US for men, possibly middle aged men, but they were babies once...

I do like Gonzo, but I don't love the character so much. Kermit had a real dignity, I think.
