Old man name (according to my Mum) or 'vintage' name due for a comeback (according to DH)?

Arthurs I can think of include:

-King Arthur
-An old man at my Mum's church
-Artie from GLEE

.....what do you all think?!

Vintage name due for a comeback, imo.

King Arthur, and olde england generally.

I think of Prince Arthur on Merlin. Yummy and delicious. Go with it. (Though if it is going to be the next Big Thing, I personally would find another name to like as I don't like the idea of naming my child something popular).

I love Arthur! it was my grandads name & on my shortlist for a boy. Would use NN pronounced ARFIE, don't like the NN ARTY. I think its making a comeback bigtime.

I love it but agree that it's making a big comeback. I know of so many lilttle ones called Arthur and Albert.

Arthur and Albert could be the next Alfie and Archie?

MarineIguana · 30/04/2010 09:27

I love it, but I think it's definitely getting more use now and could be the next Oscar/Finlay etc. King Arthur is a fine namesake.

StepSideways · 30/04/2010 09:25

i love it, good name

lucy567 · 30/04/2010 09:24

cool now making a come back.

recireci · 30/04/2010 09:21

I don't really like it but I think it will make a comeback.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 30/04/2010 09:13

I like it. We have a (26yo) friend called Arthur and he's very cool, the name has never seemed weird on him.

kailie · 30/04/2010 09:11

Not a huge fan ...though could be one that grows on people. (It currently makes think of Pauline Fowler shrieking "Arfur" on Eastenders , sorry)

Though I wasn't liking Albert, which is fairly similar, but met a gorgeous little boy called that - and it suited him perfectly!

GibbonInARibbon · 30/04/2010 09:06

I know two. One is 2 years old and the other is one.

So making a comeback me thinks.

hattee · 30/04/2010 08:59

I think it's making a come back. I like it - though DH would never agree to it
