but what think ye of Prairie as a girl's name? I quite like the sound of it, as well as the landscape it evokes (which has family significance for me)...

(And it's not as hippy dippy as Meadow, surely?)

Prairie is nicer than Meadow, but please avoid Dawn as a middle name. Or Mary.

Ho ho, scurryfunge

This is a pretty academic discussion as I doubt DH will go for it...but still, fun to dream!

Ah, see I used to love Savannah - but it's rather too trendy now, methinks...

It's a very plain name

Shaz10 · 29/04/2010 15:10

I think Tundra might have resonance with Mighty Boosh fans.

ActuallyMyNamesMarina · 29/04/2010 15:09

Terrible. It is every bit as hippy dippy as Meadow

It's up there with Savannah (yuk -sorry to anyone who as a Savannah)- why do you want to call your child after a huge area of grassland - you wouldn't pick Tundra, would you?

Shaz10 · 29/04/2010 15:09

We love it!!

thumbwitch · 29/04/2010 15:09

prairie dog would kill it for me...

scurryfunge · 29/04/2010 15:07

Sounds ok...I think of meercats though and a little house

Hullygully · 29/04/2010 15:06

It's simply beautiful. For me it says gently blowing grasses under a wide pale blue sky, freedom, fresh air, and (if they hadn't all been killed off)a lone, doe eyed bison wandering at will across the vasty plain.
