DH is set on a name for a boy. I am really not keen. I don't hate it but not sure I want to use it either!!! On the other hand, I like another name but DH says he really doesn't like it. Just thought I would see what the favourite out of the two is and if you associate anything with each name! Probably won't be using either anyway!!!

DHs name is Brandon
Mine is Blake

I know a Brandon - always in trouble and not in a charming way....

I know a Blake - American - gets called Blakey like that bloke from On the Buses.

Neither name appeals to me at all.

By the way - will asking people on MN make any difference to your husband?

dizzydixies · 28/04/2010 15:29

am sorry but I'm not keen on either

how abour Bryn?

minipie · 28/04/2010 15:20

Brendan is ok, not keen on Brandon.

Blake I quite like, but your child would have to be cool...

piratecat · 28/04/2010 15:12

i don't like either, they sound like porn stars.

LOL at ShowOfHands - 'er Smith'

happystarr - it sounds like we're all going to have to reply on you to come up with some alternatives!

ShowOfHands · 28/04/2010 14:59

And Joshua is nothing like Clayton, Brandon or Harvey btw.

wilkos · 28/04/2010 14:58

blake. brandon is awful

ShowOfHands · 28/04/2010 14:57

I dislike them both equally.

I won't suggest names I like as we have very different taste.

Do you like surnamey type names as a rule?

Jackson, Harrison, Carter, er Smith etc?

Magaly · 28/04/2010 14:52

Blake, but not crazy about it.

gagamama · 28/04/2010 14:37

Brandon is pretty common where I'm from, and most of the ones I've known have been little thugs TBH. Along similar lines to Brayden, Jayden, Kayden, Tyler, Harvey etc etc.

Blake is maginally better IMO but not wild about either of them.

What about Nate?

Fliight · 28/04/2010 14:31

No...you both need to go away and think of something else

(sorry)

saltyseadog · 28/04/2010 14:14

Neither - sorry.

happystarr · 28/04/2010 14:13

I really like the name Brandon, but then all of the boys names that I'd chosen were of similar nature -

Brandon, Clayton, Joshua, Harley... etc etc.

and in the end I ended up having two daughters! lol. Go figures.

wahwahwah · 28/04/2010 14:11

Not mad about either. Can you find a 3rd option? What about whoever is our next PM?

Hassled · 28/04/2010 14:09

I don't like either. If forced at gunpoint, I'd pick Blake.

Brandon - old 90210 character? And now a slightly dodgy type. The type with an illegal dog and no T shirt on.

sophiesmummie · 28/04/2010 14:06

If I had to choose, it would be Brandon.

Blake is a surname to me - Quentin Blake.

5DollarShake · 28/04/2010 14:02

They both sound like someone who would star in the The Young and The Restless so it's a neither from me.

If forced at gunpoint - Brandon.

pixiestix · 28/04/2010 13:44

Not wild about either but would choose Brandon over Blake

AxisofEvil · 28/04/2010 12:50

Another neither form me

DaftApeth · 28/04/2010 12:49

Magnus!

You don't get many of those around and my nephew loves his name

AnAngelWithin · 28/04/2010 12:36

we want something thats not common for around here. Theres loads of Jacks, Euans, Connors, Harrys, Joshuas, and Williams.

OP posts:
DaftApeth · 28/04/2010 12:36

I'm a 'neither' too.

AnAngelWithin · 28/04/2010 12:35
