Not sure what this obsession for avoiding 'popular' names is all about. My name was unusual as I was growing up, and I would have given my right arm to be a Louise/Clare/Emma/Sarah, as these were the popular names then.
As long as you like the name, I'd try not to get too hung up on how many 'Daisy's' a stranger on MN knows in her village....

KERALA1 · 26/04/2010 15:12

Eve/Evie etc
Grace
Isabella/Isabel variants
Olivia

For boys Ben, Jack, Oliver, Tom.

Think outside the box and leave the herd I say. There are lots of names out there break free from the top ten

Isabel/Isobel/Isabella/Izzy/Ella/Bella/Elle/Belle

Closely followed by...

D itto what someone else said re: Rose or May/Mae as the most popular middle name.

Evie/Ella - lots
Milly/Molly
Lily/Poppy/Daisy - Very, very popular, almost every baby born in the last 6 months is one of these!

Isobel/Isabelle/Isabella - DD1 (11) was nearly one of these Soooooo glad we did not use it, there are 3 in her class and I have lost count of the number we know.

Grace/Ruby/Scarlett - also lots of these.

But I love all these names, they are so pretty so I can see why they are so popular.

Will definately be the Emma/Sarah/Louise of this generation.

There are 2 Graces and 2 Lolas at Preschool.

I know 2 Sofia/Sophia's also.

Paulinespens · 23/04/2010 22:05

I've got a Charlotte Isabel and a Phoebe Rose so am feeling rather depressed after reading this thread.

My own thoughts are that there are a lot of little girls called Ellie, Grace, Ella, Lilly and Anna at my daughter's preschool.
