I'd choose Grace

AmIKiddingMyself · 12/04/2010 10:58

I'd go with Cecily (but prefer Cecy)

EsmeWatson · 12/04/2010 06:05

I love both cecily and arabella and either would be great with your surname
Felicity is ok
Grace is beautiful but way overdone
Matilda is IMO a bit of a fad and will date terribly, so my choice would be between cecily and arabella

vickyob · 11/04/2010 23:27

Cecily is lovely (nn cece) Ive tried convincing DH but he's having non of it.
I quite like Cecily Belle Westward for a full name.
I Dont like felicity either I know one who is constantly called flick and she hates it.

wifeofmadman · 11/04/2010 21:12

Felicity is BAD!! Sounds like a Sanitary Towel.

wifeofmadman · 11/04/2010 21:11

In a nutshell

both Matilda and Grace currently very very popular - many many many babies with these names. Both following the crowd.

Cecily and Arabella both good. Arabella sounds posh, which could be a positive or a negative.

honeymoonmum · 11/04/2010 21:06

I vote Cecily-lovely name.

ReneRusso · 11/04/2010 20:58

I vote for Matilda, slightly biased as I just named my baby Matilda! I don't know any other Matildas.
Grace is a bit dull (sorry)
Cecily is quite nice and very unusual.

BrigitteBardot · 11/04/2010 20:50

Cecily. I don't like Arabella.

daisyj · 11/04/2010 20:43

Arabella - Bella nice, but I prefer Belle.

mathanxiety · 11/04/2010 20:40

Arabella -- that makes two votes from here.

Aubergines · 11/04/2010 14:45

I love Matilda and Felicity. Both lovely names.

Cecily and Arabella are both fine but quite Sloaney.

HeatherTrott · 11/04/2010 14:12

Cecily

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/04/2010 14:07

I love Matilda (obviously !). Mine is the only one I know in real life (and we know a lot of under 5's)

DrivenToDistraction · 11/04/2010 14:03

If it's between Cecily and Arabella then my vote goes to Cecily.

NN Bella is likely to be a lot more popular than Matilda or Grace.

grumpypants · 11/04/2010 13:51

Cecily and cicely are lovely. Grace v popular, and Matilda ok. Mabel?

crumpette · 11/04/2010 13:44

Cecily and Arabella are lovely. I'd go for Cecily probably (good nn potential, Celie, Cece, Celia etc and less frequently heard) with Arabella as a middle name.
Cecily Arabella Westward- lovely
Also love Annabel..

plimsolls · 11/04/2010 13:35

1 vote here for Cecily.

goingitalone · 11/04/2010 13:33

i think its between cecily and arabella
cecily meaning doesnt bother me as i think of the herb sweet cecily but dp is less keen
know what you mean about ending up as bella but think i could live with that
keep voting please

Love Felicity, it's no 2 on my girls names list!

DrivenToDistraction · 11/04/2010 13:06

If you like Felicity but feel it's not quite right, how about Verity?

I know what you mean about Matilda, I fear it may get increasingly popular but it's still a great name.

I love Cecily but it does mean blind, not sure if that bothers you... Not too sweet at all. Ottilie?

Arabella is lovely too, but maybe she'd just end up being one of many, many Bellas (thanks to all the Isabellas).

pipinmybelly · 11/04/2010 12:58

Matilda with nn of Tilly? ask dp that???
If not, then I like Felicity - nn Flick?

Im struggling with names myself!! It's so hard!! Good luck xx

goingitalone · 11/04/2010 12:53

dp says no to matilda and wont be persuaded i love it buts he has vetoed it unfortunately

weepootle · 11/04/2010 12:45

Arabella is nice though.

weepootle · 11/04/2010 12:44

I love Matilda, but I have one so biased. It depends where you live whether it's popular or not.

Grace however, seems to be very popular everywhere.

Not keen on Felicity or Cecily.
