What do you think?

We love it and I think its our first choice (although we also like Grace), but I'm interested to hear your thoughts!

Honesty is fine!

Really don't like it, nor any of the varients - but it seems like the 'non-likers' are definitely the minority...

TheFallenMadonna · 10/04/2010 00:51

Love it.

NadiaWadia · 10/04/2010 00:43

A really beautiful and timeless name. So many shorter names can be made from it as well so as she grows up she would have plenty of choice. If I'd have had a 2nd DD she would have been Susannah, nickname possibly Sukie/Sukey.

swanandduck · 09/04/2010 17:08

I love Susannah and also love Susan or Susie.

bibbitybobbityhat · 09/04/2010 16:19

Love it love it love it love it love it.

I always nominate Suzannah on all the girl baby naming threads.

I really think it is gorgeous. Please go for it .

skidoodly · 09/04/2010 16:17

Suze! I love Big Suze from Peep Show

Sukie is OK, but my only association is "Sukie take it off again, we'll all have tea"

5DollarShake · 09/04/2010 15:56

Susannah is lovely. I really don't like Sue or Susie, though.

Having said that - my best friend is a Susan and has never been known as either Sue or Susie (she simply is not either; though she does get shortened to Suze which suits her far better), so if you don't want those nns (you may well!), you don't necessarily have to live with them.

Angela82 · 09/04/2010 15:55

I really like it but then my best friend has the same kind of name (spelt Suzanna) so I'm bias

violethill · 09/04/2010 15:51

Really classy and beautiful. Susie is lovely as a nn too.

Fliight · 09/04/2010 14:38

It depends where you live and so on. If you lived on a council estate in the 1970s, it was a bad move. Sometimes it IS better to have a normal name iyswim.

TabithaTwitchet · 09/04/2010 14:36

I think it is very pretty, personally prefer it to Grace as I like lots of syllables.
I know three adults called Susannah - one uses the name in full, the other is Suzie and the other is Zannah - I don't usually like shortenings, but I think Zannah is pretty cool

skidoodly · 09/04/2010 14:33

Lovely. like susie as a nn, but prefer full name

passionberry · 09/04/2010 14:31

What about Sukie as a nickname?

Fliight · 09/04/2010 14:17

It's a nice name, bit posh but it depends who you mix with. 'Susie' is a horrid name imo. I also don't like 'Sue' but have ended up with no options really...what else can you shorten it to? Nothing!

yellowflowers · 09/04/2010 13:56

I think it is lovely and old testament too which I like. It's on my list for a girl - worry is that she will have lisp though. Also don't like nickname of susie.

SpeccieSeccie · 08/04/2010 22:24

Now I almost never post on the baby name threads but had to reply to this because I just think Susannah is the very most gorgeous name. Really very lovely. And currently will make her far more special than Grace (I know plenty baby Graces, no Susannahs round here). Go for it - she'll be a lucky girl.

PollyTechnique · 08/04/2010 22:23

Beautiful, sophisticated.
Susie is cute.

Goingspare · 08/04/2010 22:20

Lovely.

plimsolls · 08/04/2010 22:17

Also, you can sing to her "oh Susannah, don't you cry for me" when you're soothing her to sleep! Which, if it were me, I would like to do very much. But it might be twee

plimsolls · 08/04/2010 22:15

It's really lovely. I have a friend called Susannah and its shortened to Susie, never known anyone to called her Sue. Sooz, sometimes, when people know her really well.

littleoldme · 08/04/2010 21:46

I know a baby Susannah and she's gorgeous!

Ellokitty · 08/04/2010 19:50

Love it. It is my DD2s middle name.

muminthemiddle · 08/04/2010 10:53

Dislike it. Dislike Susan, Sue and all variants.
Might be coming back in fashion though.

Rockbird · 08/04/2010 08:55

Love it. Was on my list for DD and is still on for the next one. Susie is lovely as a nn. The 'h' is vital, I think btw.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 07/04/2010 17:28

I like it.

I also like Christina
