Whats so bad about Thea?

Currently expecting dd no.3. Other dd's are Grace Margaret and Ava Ruby. My maiden name was Theobald so was rooting for Theodore if having a boy in honour of that side of my family but since its a girl am very much liking Thea instead. Dh has vetoed it saying its too "out there" for us! Is it really too different to use with Grace and Ava? Am waiting for him to get home from work to inform him my cousin has just named his daughter Roccoco Rose and thats clearly more "out there" than Thea!!!

I love the idea - i.e. of using your maiden name (would love to incorporate my own if we have another boy). But... Thea, to me, is not so much old lady, as matronly (which is worse IMO).

Ava and Grace are such lovely names - feminine, classic names without being overly pretty and frilly (plus great associations - Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly). Thea is, well, not so much...! I think if I was a Thea with sisters called Ava and Grace, I'd be more than a little miffed.

What about using it as a middle name?

Thea seems nice and easily as 'normal' as Grace and Ava these days.

Roccoco .... I had to work hard just to get the right number of c's in it!

I like Thea - nothing "out there" about it imo (unlike Roccoco!)
Goes well with Grace and Ava too.
