can't decide, does this name sound strange?

Hi, I really like the name Brianne especially as Brian is my grandpas name but our surname is Brown, does Brianne Brown sound funny i cant decide? Thanks xx

I like it when it's pronounced BrieArne not BriAnn & BrieArne Brown sounds OK, but not BriAnn Brown....

If you like it then call her Brianne. People are always going to like/dislike whatever name you chose!

If your happy with it - do it! I'm calling my son Harry, and my OH's surname is Heard!

Aslong as it's not something like Teresa Green or Wayne King (sorry!) I don't see the problem.

Bryony is better although still not my own choice personally. I definitely don't think t could be classed as "chav" (yuk - hate that word!) though. Would have thought more likely to be mc.

I think Brianne Brown is a brilliant name! It's unique as a full name, but won't stand out too much just as a full name. Go for it!

I like Bryony Belinda and Beatrix. Brianne is very popular in America but I think of Brian...... I'm not ready for baby Brians.

I think that is a gorgeous idea to call your daughter after your grandpa just imagine how thrilled he will be Brianne/Brianna both nice and work well with your surname IMO, if you like it go with it and i think that is such a lovely tribute to your granda he will be so proud

Don't forget people will call her Brie for short, how does Brie Brown sound to you? Did you know there is an Australian actor called Bryan Brown (he was in Cocktail with Tom Cruise.)

I like the idea of a BB name (BB is a cute nickname in itself) but not a BrBr one.

How about:

Beatrice/Beatrix
Belinda

Brianne could work with some surnames, but not with Brown, sorry.
