What do you reckon? Like or dislike?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TimothyTigerTuppennyTail · 29/03/2010 22:28

Dislike.

Lionstar · 29/03/2010 22:29

Well I'd have to say dislike, for 2 reasons:
I know a rabbit called Percy and he is the devil in bunny form.

Also we have a family phrase when changing DS's nappy to 'point Percy South' to remember to rearrange him to avoid nappy leakages

KAEKAE · 29/03/2010 22:30

lmao...point percey south!!!

An old uncle of mine used to say he had to 'point Percy at the porcelain' when he needed the loo.

TMI from an old bloke when you're 13!!

Meglet · 29/03/2010 22:35

I love Percy .

(and Hector and Jasper which IMO are kind of similar).

hellymelly · 29/03/2010 22:35

Yes I think of pointing percy at the porcelain too,but I do also love the name.

sweetkitty · 29/03/2010 22:52

no

AllieW · 30/03/2010 10:43

Not very keen. Not even if it's only a nn for Percival.

irisblue · 30/03/2010 16:59

I think it's sweet

ABitBatty · 30/03/2010 17:13

Cute

PanicMode · 30/03/2010 17:17

We toyed with Percy (and we also have Jasper and Hector on our list!) but have discounted it due to the penis connection....

I knew a lovely boy called Percy so I have positive connotations to the name, but there is the tank engine thing too....

pippylongstockings · 30/03/2010 17:18

Percy is a great name - but I think for a girl - honestly I think it would be a really cool girls name.

Re the penis connection...I've never heard anyone call a penis,Percy!! But now I have been totally put off! rofl.

upahill · 06/04/2010 09:14

Round our way it is a common euphemism for a penis!!!

BigBadMummy · 06/04/2010 09:15

as in penis?!!!!

Er no.

midnightexpress · 06/04/2010 09:29

Even without the penis connection I don't like it. It's a bit weedy, or else a bit try-hard to be trendy and different.

ErnestTheBavarian · 06/04/2010 09:34
  1. point percy at the porcelain.
  2. cute at 1 or 2 yrs old. Cute is not a good look for a 16 yr old on the pull.
DomesticG0ddess · 06/04/2010 19:18

I think it is also a bit weedy, but apparently it was my chosen name for my new brother back in 1978 (parents did not agree).
